I was doing a little better with my anxiety but then I had oral surgery with sedation. It’s been two days and my anxiety has ramped up. I received Versed, Fentanyl and Ketamine for sedation. I am on Amoxicillin now. Could any of these meds be ramping this up or is it me? I am so depressed that I am doing this to myself. I HATE THIS! What do others do?

I had a bottom wisdom tooth extracted 48 hours ago. It is making me more tired than I expected. It is also disorienting because I was told no walking or other exercising, and also because eating is limited to smoothies and very soft food. I didn't expect it to be this upsetting, especially since I have not really had any significant pain. I am also taking amoxicillin which causes stomach discomfort and some other problems. I had a local anesthetic so I am not sure how you would expect to feel after general.
I know I am more anxious when my body is not feeling normal. Hopefully in a couple of days we will both be over the tooth surgery and will be feeling better emotionally, as well as physically. x
I have not been sleeping that well either. I think oral surgery and tooth extraction is more invasive and upsets your body. On top of that there is the anesthesia you had and the amoxicillin we are both taking, plus not eating normally and pain. All of that makes us not feel "normal" and then anxiety rears its head. Hopefully it will improve after a few more days of healing. x
I hope you are right. Slept a little better last night. Hope you feel better each day. Please keep in touch and let me know how your post op journey is going.
Trish - The afternoon will start the fourth day after the extraction. I can definitely say I feel more tired than I thought I would at this point. I have one more amoxicillin to take. The continuing tiredness does make me anxious, but the tooth area does seem to be healing. There was a lot more cutting to remove the tooth than I expected, so it may just be that oral surgery is hard on the body.
This is day 3 for me. Fatigue and upset stomach which is either the amoxicillin or me🤷🏻♀️. Yeah I guess I thought it wouldn’t be bad after the first day but read that 48-72 hours is the worst time. I tend to be hard on myself. Glad you are past the worst part.
Everyone is biologically different and in my experience of bad reactions to something I have been the only one to react like that and can never find anyone else with the same reactionHave you looked into the benefits of magnesium for anxiety?
Magnesium counters cortisol so if it's cortisol keeping you awake then magnesium is a good idea - if you are on medication you need to check on interactions ?
It may be it's not Pharmacological. You were in a situation that you don't deal with every day in your natural comfort zone. But that's just me thinking about the situation that you were in, because I know that my body would be filled with extra stress hormones for days following.
