Morning Anxiety Techniques

Could anyone suggest good and positive Techniques on what to do for anxiety when waking up in the morning. I am just asking because what I do does not make much sense. I wake up negative, scared and not accepting that I have an anxiety disorder. I basically make my anxiety worse and I create more ridiculous intrusive thoughts. I create stupid theories. I am just scared this will make me home bound and lose my job. I just have a hard time with a decent productive routine

I heard that everything is worse in the morning and at night because certain chemicals are released during sleep that gradually subside during the day. Don't know for sure but I think I remember being told that by one of my doctors. You need to get rid of that extra adrenaline your body expels during panic episodes. The other day I hopped on the exercise bike, sometimes I sing in the car on the way to work, sometimes I blast some tunes and dance around the kitchen. Just don't sit still and think to much. Concentrate on cooking something fun for breakfast where you have to concentrate on the recipe. Just keep your mind and body busy.

Thank you that is my problem. I usually don't do anything before work. I am most productive on my days off. That is my problem too much overthinking.

But I will not lie. I have a feeling of fear right now. I am so afraid of being a prisoner in my mind.

You have to redirect your thinking and try and remove yourself from whatever or whomever is making you uncomfortable and giving you negative feelings. Watch a good show that will keep your attention, clean out your closets do something that will make you exhausted at bedtime. Get out all bottled up energy and think of healthy ways to solve your problems

Thank you. Not to confuse you. My thoughts are irrational crazy theories. These things will not hurt me. But my brain believes it for some reason. Sorry for being complex and a pain.

Don't be sorry and you are not a pain, we have all been there

So you have had crazy irrational thoughts?

If you realize they are crazy and irrational then deep inside yourself you know they are just thoughts. Everyone has a different view on crazy and irrational, it depends how you perceive it.

You know what. Those thoughts I actually believe. So maybe I should be put into an institution. There is something wrong with me.

There are a lot of good resources on YouTube for stress and anxiety. Yellow Brick Cinema and Jason Stephenson and two good options. Simple breathing exercises can counteract effects of anxiety. Also check into the concept of distress tolerance that is part of DBT therapy. Its relates to creating distractions for periods of time when you may feel overwhelmed.

I am a Christian so I thank the good Lord for another day. I tried so hard to end me so many times over the years and am very grateful I was so BAD at it. Decide on rising you will find one good thing in the day and more importantly do ONE good turn to another. Where I live I can walk about freely but there are many unemployed young persons roaming about aimlessly etc. I say "good morning" to everyone I pass....I aint proud, and dont expect everyone to respond. For some of those folks it maybe the only acknowledgement of their existence.
