I am recovering from a bad accident. Every time I go home from the hospital something goes wrong. My lung collapsed twice. I am home again after lung surgery and surgery on some of my broken ribs. Now I am worried the incisions aren’t healing. I am trying to stay positive but the anxiety wins. It has been 2 months and I can’t relax or stop worrying. I already ended up back in the hospital 3 times with a total of 21 days.
I should have gratitude. I am lucky to be alive. But, the recovery has been so brutal that I can’t let it go.

((((((((((((((Hug))))))))))))) your feelings are valid. It will get easier. You’ve been through a lot. I am sending positive healing vibes(((((((((((((( Stay strong.
Give yourself some love, focus on how strong your mind has been to get you this far,
May be sit with your eyes closed quite and focus on you, thank your body each day, each individual organ in your body, thank your beating heart for not letting you down, thank your damaged lung now in repair, thank your mind for the great job of protecting you and holding you together, thank them all for what they have done to keep you. Best wishes.
Wow! You must be exhausted and I can understand the struggle to be grateful. I am concerned that you don't mention any support that you have upon returning home and that might make a difference. Can your doctor arrange some help for you? - that's how it is done here in Ontario, Canada. Might be worthwhile to check out for yourself.
I am hoping that you could get a nurse to visit you daily or several times a week, in what area of the world do you live?
I haven’t seen my primary yet. I hope he can get some services arranged for me. The trauma hospital I was at is overwhelmed. Mainly once they have saved your life they need the bed for another patient. I am in Upstate NY.
Wow, sorry to hear what you've been going through. Sounds like you are dealing with the trauma of your ordeal, justifiably so and would benefit from working with a trauma therapist to deal with and help you process the emotions of it. They can also help you learn new coping skills to deal with the fear and uncertainty of the future. My trauma therapist used emdr therapy which was very helpful. Hugs to you.
There seems to be a lot more resources and therapy available online now. I've found the youtube videos and info by Paige Pradko to be helpful, she also has an online program for health anxiety. My best to you and hope you get the help you need.
