It's an adrenaline flush. Happens to people with anxiety. Just remind calm it'll go back to normal. Yeah it was scary to me too when it first happened to me.

What do you mean by an adrenaline flush? It was so freaky and the weird part about it my dad was just telling me earlier in the day about that’s how his irregular heart beat was before he was put on pills. But like it was so weird I was talking getting things off my chest then all of a sudden I had a weird sensations come over me and checked my pulse for some reason and it got like super slow skipped some beats felt like it stopped freaked me out and I went into a panic thinking I was dying ugh. I just wish this damn Buspar would help me

It's another way of saying an anxiety flash. Sometimes people with anxiety get this flix of adrenaline. Which makes you feel hot and your heart race sometimes skips a beat or palpitations. It can be scary but it doesn't last too long but in the moment it seems like it. If you don't pay attention to it,it can come down quickly. Sometimes it can send you in a panic cause it was random.

I learn that from an app called DARE. It's on itunes and android. It helped me understand somethings that I felt that I've never experienced before.

That's a good thing. I wish I could say that for myself.

I'm sorry you continue to go through this. The feeling is scary no matter what the cause is.

I too have had this happen and it does freak me out when it does. I have skipped beats and my heart can feel like it’s beating out of control . This has happened about 5 times since my teens. Each time it doesn’t last long enough to get on a ekg, but I have been told it’s benign and not harmful. I’ve been stress tested , put on a halter monitor and nothing shows up. It is scary but know it happens to anxious people like me that have had GAD since childhood but I have been told my heart is strong and healthy. I do have a cardiologist and he has been monitoring my condition for years. I stay active and drink lots of water and eat healthy foods. I am 63 now and my dr is going to run a stress test again just to rule out anything other than what he has always suspected; anxiety and stress causes this benign condition.

Happens a lot to me too, especially if I'm in bed. If you're really worried you shouldn't be afraid of seeing a doctor. Glad you're still alive and well :D It's a "normal" thing that a lot of people can experience once in a while. It's when it happens regularly that it's a problem.

And it caused your heart to do weird things?

Hi Adamj,

It often happens, but we rarely notice it unless we are sitting or lying down and relaxing.

Nothing to worry about in the main, but you could have a word with your doctor if it continues to concern you.

Cheers, Midori

Hi,what you experience is anxiety attack. It calms down after a minute. Please talk to your doctor. I experienced this also, the meds helped tremendously but it took awhile. God bless you. Stay in touch.
