*Symptom Alert* (for those that get easily triggered like me at times)

Not too long ago, I started having dizzy spells when I was getting out of bed and trying to stand up.

After looking around on what it could be (besides panic attacks) I found out that it's sometimes normal for people totally stressed out to have that symptom, and it's my body's way of trying to get my attention about my current stress level. (AKA the more stressed I was, the more severe the dizzy spells were)

The cool part, which is why I am sharing this, is that if you drink some water before getting out of bed, it helps with that. (depending on how stressed I was, and sometimes a small sip was all I needed)

If that doesn't completely fix it, then I'll say a positive mantra to myself when walking from the bed to the door.

Bottom line - I always keep a bottle of water by my bed, and am now trying to focus on staying hydrated more.

Interesting! That is a really insightful knowledge to have about one’s self. I have also been increasing it to control cravings more.

Thanks. :)

No I have REALLY STRESSFUL NOISY NEIGHBORS (and I'm sensitive to sudden noise, or prolonged periods of loud noise) that live above me. Going on 5 years now, with each year getting louder, and I'm not able to move ATM.

On top of that, my parents health has kinda taken a difficult toll recently. (too much to go on there) & There's other things too, but just too much to list that hit me all at once.

So I was getting these dizzy spells when getting out of bed, but they didn't seem like the Panic Attacks that I have when I get those, and I was like what's going here with these dizzy spells right?

Turns out that it was my body telling me, "Hey your mental health has taken a beating lately, and you should probably work on that".

^ But like i said, if you drink water, sometimes that's enough to fix that issue before getting out of bed.

FTR - I've had a rough past couple of years. I've lost 60 pounds, and some people are quick to point out that I look better. But really besides eating a little bit healthier, the rest of the "unexplained weight loss" as my doc wrote in my chart, is me telling him that my anxiety has really jacked up my metabolism levels way too high. I'm in my mid 40's and my metabolism is like when I was 18.

^ All of that may sound good at first, but I'd much rather be a little bit heavier and happy if I could get some of this "uncontrolled stress" off my plate.

Bottom line - Stay hydrated people. Especially when you are feeling stressed. Keep that water nearby. (especially if you sometimes have dizzy spells getting out of bed, and your doc can't find anything else wrong with you)

I hear you on that! Uncertainty in my job. Fear of asking for what I have earned. Working with new people who cause conflict. I have 10 years before I consider retirement. I say consider because inflation and a housing crash or a wildfire could threaten all of it. Not to mention a serious medical incident. Anything could go south in 10 years and there is little time left to recover. Now the boomers could be getting the best of the spoils on that too. Apologies to individuals but as a generation I feel like they suck all the air. (Rant)

What decreases that? Truly not spending a lot is less stressful. Finding and appreciation of the place I live in. Hiking is cheap and special if I can stay out of REI. 😂 simple walking is beneficial. My mother had difficulty with this so maybe that makes me value it more.

I get so people weary after a few days! Grateful I work at home. I travel alone for the same reason.

My cat keeps me in check! Or annoys the hell out of me and people are an escape.

Thinking about my exams 🙁, realising that I have a lot of syllabus left to study for exams, consequences if I don't get good marks, thinking how my parents will react and a constant fear that I don't end up doing something stupid because of all this stuff

in reply to

i feel you I'm also a student and its so stressful especially when you are trying your best to do good , the key is to appreciate your effort before any body and to do not think about the mark while studying just think about doing what you have to do and you well get what you want , i hope it became easier for you

Stress to me is basically anxiety, and it's an all consuming thing. If I'm anxious about something my whole day is wasted on worrying about it. It's like a wild fire that never stops you just have to try and be fast enough to put it out before it spreads... I try to decrease it by breathing, not thinking about it, closing my eyes and breathing, distracting myself with something else, fidgeting. I would say the thing that works best when your sitting in worry about something you have to do later, distract yourself so you don't think about it too much
