Hi Chajj, I've never been a smoker so can't answer that question.

However, I was wondering if your headache went away after a night's sleep? :) xx

I used to love smoking weed but started noticing it would heighten my anxiety and would make me feel worse so I stopped. Now I just feel numb. My parents and partner keep asking me what’s wrong they know I’m not myself but don’t feel like everything’s ok I know it’s not. It’s not ok for me to just cry and not want to get out of bed. At work I’m just faking it and going thru the motions. Idk if this is helpful but your not alone.

Makes sense my friend, since smoking does rob one of oxygen :) xx

I used to smoke a lot. I don't think it ever completely goes away. I quit several times and am chewing gum right now. But it gets easier.

long terms smoker recently quit soon after a cigarette anxiety can heighten and moods will lower if you crave for one but can`t if your in work or a place you can`t smoke.

I smoked cigarettes made from loose tobacco until I was about 70 and consider they had a tranquillising effect. A fag and a cup of tea or coffee were therapeutic. Problem is they slowly destroy the surface of the lungs, I only smoked about 4 or 5 roll ups a day and am lucky to have blood oxygen saturation of 95-96%.

Good morning Chajj, I quit smoking in September and it hasn't been easy, I'm still heavily addicted to nicotine as I now use a vape on a regular basis. I did spend a month completely nicotine free and just a warning my anxiety was through the roof, also I started to feel more depressed than normal, apparently it's because of the dopamine receptor in the brain, it takes a while to re wire itself and get back to normal, during the re wiring process it can feel like an emotional rollercoster.

But if you stick at it and get past that 1 month barrier you will start to feel better.

I recommend nicotine patches, they help your body slowly adjust to lower levels of nicotine, and don't rush the process like I did, I was too impatient and hot headed, now I'm more hooked on nicotine than ever before due to vaping, I definitely would not recommend vaping btw.

I'm amazed at how easily vaping products are readily available for anyone to buy without any warnings, so many young people are now hooked on nicotine thanks to vaping.

Anyway all the best and I wish you great success in your quit journey

That’s a good question. But don’t they have cannabis for anxiety, like medication? I don’t think it increases anxiety or depression. But that’s a good question. That’s a good question.

Well I was a smoker from 13 until 35 and I swore that it put me at ease and I think it did to a certain extent although from a medical perspective I think it’s actually the opposite. Of course I’m not a doctor. I guess it could go either way. Good question.

I think So? My father smoked Unfiltered Vicroys, he suffered from mental illness, he smoked continually. He yelled when there was noise, locked the doors at night, then stood looking at the locks for awhile, insecure all the time

thanks a lot guys for for you help

Nicotine can calm you and decrease anxiety however marijuana has been linked to a decrease in motivation and possibly heightened anxiety if you build a tolerance to it.
