Feeling guilty

Hello everyone on here. I’m feeling guilty about taking an afternoon nap. I suffer from severe depression, but I just got in after running several errands. I went to the pharmacy, paid a sweeper ticket, grabbed lunch and picked up groceries. But I feel guilty about laying down for about an hour. I guess I need to vent a little. Thank you. SAMSON

Hi Strongest,Consider that hour nap as your "me time". With this heat and you running all

your errands, you deserved to rest for a while.

Hopefully, it made you feel better when you got up.

As long as the nap doesn't interrupt your nighttime sleep,

you shouldn't feel guilty at all. :) xx

No need to feel guilty, doing all that would make me need a nap too. Don't beat yourself up over it!

I often feel guilty after taking a nap. I haven't done anything wrong, so it is considered "false guilt". I also suffer from a very harsh "inner critic". I am not sure if it started with super critical parents. I have started talking back to the inner critic and getting some relief from self condemnation.😉I hope this helps you a little. 🙂

Good. the Inner Critic kept me down for many years, until I wised up to it and told it to learn about travel and reproduction, but not necessarily in that order! had to chase it off a few more times, but It's gone now!

I LOVE to nap. Always have, always will. My exhusband considered me lazy but I am very busy and look forward to my weekend nap if I can fit one in.

Don't worry about it. The human body isn't conditioned to go all out all day. Europeans take a siesta between 1pm and 3pm daily. This is also a way for you to manage your situation. I do it from time to time and work full time.

Hey, if Napoleon Bonaparte took a nap every day and was a great proponent of an afternoon snooze, so can anyone!Don't add guilt to stress; just enjoy your siesta and be grateful for it!

Go for it! If you need a kip do it. No need to ask anyone's permission.
