Anyone else who takes paroxetine and still feel the same? I've been taking it 7 weeks now, no change except for side effects of constipation and sweating in public. I also yell in my sleep unknowingly.

I would talk to your doctor are you getting any relief from the anxiety?

None. I'd rather not try ssri anymore. Useless crap

I understand how you feel if it’s not helping you it’s sad and frustrating

Hi - I have been on Paroxetine for years, and have been feeling sick most of the time. Doc thinks it may be this drug and told me to take it in the morning as another doc told to me take take it at night. Did you have any trouble coming off of it - thank you.

I think you need to get through the sick part. Took me 8 weeks to get used to 8t. Only side effect now is constipation but laxatives are a cure but I still feel less anxious and mellow... almost emotionless but not so bad any more.

Hi Blue-1321,

What are you taking paroxetine for? I am taking it for Anxiety/Depression for 9 weeks, along with 2.5mg Abilify. In addition, I practice CBT/DBT skills such as thought challenging, journaling, exercise, behavioral activation, etc.

When I do the non-medication stuff, I still had depression from anxiety kick in, but the meds helped intervene until I could build up CBT/DBT skills up to speed. When that happened, I could rely a little less on the meds.

I do not know if this helps at all. Let me know if you have questions and/or what things you have tried.

Best of luck you you!

Brandon

I'm taking the paxil for panic attacks and selective mutism. Should I give it another couple weeks?

Okay I will do that. I just found out my father was admitted to the ER today and I think that the paroxetine is helping me avoid panic attacks. I seem to not be too emotional RN. Maybe because I am used to riding on my feelings. IDK. I'm a little anxious but not as bad as I used to be. Thank you for your advice and input.
