Hi katieann, it's weird but my family reacted in the same way. My sister stopped talking to me because if it. You reach out and you get shunned and shouted out. I've found that it's because they don't know how to react or help so they freak out.

What else have you tried?

How come? Doctor can open options like Councelling, peer support groups and if needed, medication

I don't talk to anyone

I'm in a similar situation. I can't get help as long as I live with my parents because they don't think mental illnesses are real and that people who suffer from them do it for attention. If anyone can give this thread a helpful reply, that'd be amazing. I'd be so grateful

That's the same and with me. Sadly I don't really have any advice...

My parents are the same, very traditional and think that we should hide all emotions and just get on with it. That's ok though, in a way, I'm glad they have not had to experience the darkness that mental health issues bring.

You don't need your parents permission to get help though. If you go to your doctor your parents won't be informed. Your doctor will be able to give you options.

Do you work/attend school? If you talk to your line manager/ tutor they will be able to point you in the direction of your work/school councellor. Everything is confidential.

Hope that helps
