BUSPAR / Buspirone question

yes, half dose 2x day. helps a lot.

When you say half dose -- how many milligrams do you mean? Are you cutting the pill in half?
GOOD QUESTION - Sorry I didn't specify: I cut a 30 mg in half and take one morning, one evening.
I take two a day, but have not experienced the anger. It mostly makes me a little tired. Taking it with CBD has helped.
Hi there, I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing these feelings of anger. I started taking Buspar for generalized anxiety disorder in early October. I saw no change in symptoms, so my psychiatrist gradually increased my dosage to the max of 60 mg per day (30 mg in the AM, 30 mg at night). I’m also on Zoloft and Wellbutrin. I never experienced any symptoms of anger, and while I’ve only been on this dosage for about 7 days, I finally feel as though some of my anxiety is subsiding (which is surprising, given that I’m in graduate school and this is finals week). From what I know about Buspar, it typically is prescribed with other medications. I would check with your psychiatrist to see what they say. Perhaps there is another medication that could be prescribed in conjunction with the Buspar that might alleviate these feelings of anger. Sending peace, hugs, and light to you. 💖
Yes, I recently started taking buspar within the last few months and my therapist and pharmacist warned me about this side effect. I’m on 10mg twice a day and haven’t experienced any anger or rage, but it can occur. I was told my by NP that buspar works for some and others don’t feel any relief from it. Talk to your prescriber. Maybe think about a lower dose or getting weaned off. Buspar might not be helpful for you. I hope your mood gets better! You’re not crazy and medications can have some some strange paradoxical effects sometimes.
