I am feeling overwhelmed with life right now. I am losing friends/roommates. I am overthinking the good things I have in life and I just feel lost.

I live with 2 roommates who I considered my best friends but its like every other week there is a huge fight and I just cant handle it anymore emotionally. I try so hard to do my best and it just seems to all crumble.

I'm so sorry about that. Why would friends fight like that?. Maybe it's time to get new friends? Of course I don't know the details but if you have anxiety, that is going to make it worse. Have you talked to them about how you feel? If they are really good friends they should understand and try to stop fighting. If they don't, they are not good friends. The world is full of nice people. All you need to do is find them. 🙂

I agree that friends should not fight like we have and I feel like they do not have my back which is why I do not want to continue to try and make things work. I agree there is so many nice people out there but I struggle to go out there and find those nice people.

It's a sad situation, then. The way I see it, it's not a healthy relation you have with your "best friends".

Maybe some kind of therapy will help?

It makes me sad to read you struggle to find new people. Are you a student? Or do you have a job? In those places you can meet new people. It's not that you have to go out and ask people "do you want to be my friend? that's not the way it works. How about a neighbor? You might cross paths with someone and suddenly you might find yourself talking to that person and you might become friends.

Those are my thoughts but, of course, everybody is different. But you should try for your own good. 😕

I am scheduling a therapy appointment this week because I know I can not handle this alone. Yes I am a student and I work, I feel likeit also makes it hard because of the pandemic. All my classes have been moved online and I only work with a few people. Thank you for you advice, I appreciate it!

I am sorry you are struggling. I know that I have had many, many overwhelming times in my life. I want you to know I am proud of you, you are thinking of the good things in your life. I know you are over thinking, however, you are thinking of the good things. The trick I did that really helped , was to take one moment at a time. Do one thing at a time and pause. Pause for me has become very relevant for me. I have to just sit and breath and say to myself, " Ok, what needs to be done at this moment?" Stop your mind from racing and pause. It's okay to sit for a few minutes and gather thoughts and shut your mind off of all the "stuff " that is racing through it and have self compassion and self care for yourself. One moment at a time, because life is always changing around us and change is inevitable. Just pausing, quiet moments and breathing taking things one at a time and getting them done, helped me. Do you have a positive support in a friend or a family member that will talk to you when you are feeling this way? That helps as well. Praying that God moves peace and his spirit in your life and takes all this stress away! Just take one moment at a time , Pause what you are doing and breath.
