I just got diagnosed with a severe case of diverticulitis. I suffer from anxiety and insomnia. My doctor put me on xanex so I could sleep at night and I only take it at night and I don't abuse it. I didn't realize that it has so many bad side effects and one of them being constipation which might have led to the diverticulitis. I've been on it for 4 months. I tried to stop but I haven't slept in 2 days. I'm a little scared if what it's doing to me. Does anyone have any knowledge they could share.

What other side effects has xanax given you? I heard that it has little to no side effects. I’m actually being put on it by the end of this week.

I'm not even sure the xanex is the cause yet. It's the only med that works for my severe insomnia. I really don't have bad side effects to it. I only take it at night and I never up my dose or abuse it. It's comforting for me when I go to bed at night because I know I will sleep. Just make sure u can get a good 8 hours of sleep if that's what your using it for. Sometimes when I first get up I'm a little groggy.

Thanks! I’m using it for anxiety/panic attacks. My doctor said to take it in the morning and I should be fine throughout the day. Only taking it for a week since I will be on vacation, hopefully I can enjoy myself.
