Hello to you all,I'm new to the community and wanted to say hi.Im not sure how this support site works ,not sure how I work sometimes either.im 50 yes old,I suffer from anxiety and get depression quite alot.I have abused alcohol in my past but have been taking antibuse for the last few weeks as I need support to be abstanant from the alcohol...I have not been capable to use this type of support platform before,so I would be most great full if someone could help me in navigating the site..I have reached a point in my life where I need to change many things, to make me better.A friend recommended that this site is good for supporting me in my recovery, well being and helping me with my high levels of anxiety... thanks for the opportunity to talk to you all, especially those who have experienced anxiety and alcohol abuse.

Spencer71, alcohol is an anti thiamine factor (others are in the stuttersence attachment below) meaning it depletes or destroys thiamine (vitamin B1) and also causes magnesium loss. Magnesium is needed to activate thiamine and vitamin D. Activated thiamine is needed to activate vitamin B6. In general the B vitamins work better together. Fat soluble thiamine such as TTFD and sulbutiamine are able to pass through the blood brain barrier for higher absorption levels. The reason I'm bringing thiamine to your attention is it's importance in the brain. Yes these links contain a little bit of reading but I hope they encourage your looking further. Always consult your health care professional before using any supplement.
