My depression and anxiety are getting worse and I don't know how to deal with it. The only meds I have right now are valium and I'm eating through them. I'm having panic attacks every day again. I'm currently looking for an online psychiatrist but it's so hard to find one that takes my insurance and will have it be completely covered. I have no income. My stimulus check is reserved for my bills the next few months. I need help desperately but have nowhere to go. If I don't get help soon I'm going to lose it.

Losing my mind
Hi, I’m sorry to hear things are so overwhelming right now.
Couple things; 1. Be careful with the Valium, just friendly advice. Try to monitor yourself and the intake. If you have no refills, it’ll be much harder when you have none left 2. If you have no income, you should qualify for Medicaid. That you can apply for, along with food stamps and cash assistance at your county’s social service agency. It’s actually better than continuing to pay for private insurance. I’d advise taking a friend with you as you’ll wait a while and may need emotional support just because of the general stress 3. Go to your community’s mental health agency, they’ll see you as a walk in new patient. You’ll get in with a Dr to prescribe meds and a therapist for support. Again, Medicaid vs private insurance is actually better in situations like this.
Until then, have you tried the Calm app? It’s free and you can download it on your phone, it offers strategies to manage anxiety. The app Breathe does the same.
Keep reaching out here, there’s always someone here ok?
After jumping through many hoops I do finally have Medicaid and food assistance (cash assistance I was denied). I have a secondary insurance that goes along with the Medicaid but have tried reaching out to them to find out about my coverage/co-pays but they're of no help. I'm a little worried about going out right now so I figured an online therapy would be best. I've emailed a few places. Everything is such a long wait and I just don't know how much longer I can wait.
I will check out the apps though. Anything is better than nothing right now. Thank you!
I am so sorry that horrible. I would watch how much Valium you are taking as you could overdose or run out and have none left to rely on. I know there are insurances that can help take some financial strain off but I am just 16 and not 100 percent sure on how it works or what to do. I just wanted to tell you to try and stay positive and just work hard to solve your problems as well as let you know you have a friend in me who is here to talk whenever so just post or message me individually and we can talk if you would like.
Thank you, that's very kind of you! I'm being aware of how much valium I take. I'm just taking them so often because I can't control the anxiety. I get physically ill from it. The more I take the valium though the less it works. I'm up to two pills (10 mg each) a day. Sometimes I have to drink a glass or two of wine with them just to calm down and be able to breathe. I can't live like this anymore.
Have you tried speaking with a therapist or a doctor? Maybe they can help you control it I know that there are mental tips and tricks they can do to reduce the symptons of your anxiety.
