Shelter in place order.

Anxiety is through the roof today. I live in SD and the governor of SD has issued a shelter in place order for those over 65, does not include me, and or those with chronic conditions like Diabetes which does. Compared to a lot of people, I still have a job working at home though, but the shelter at home thing almost caused a panic attack. Just me and the kitties in a one bedroom apartment. Anyone else in a shelter in place area having trouble.

One of my Anxiety symptoms is a cough.

No I am lucky, I live in SC, where out idiot Governor has finally used a stay in place starting at 5 pm today! I was so mad at him, this should have been done weeks ago. I am 78 next month, a widow, no family close by, but I am doing OK, I play nice music in the background, and I keep So busy. I have 2 lovely cats, one reason I ventured out last Fri. after being in for 3 weeks, I needed cat food/litter, wore my mask and surgical gloves, people were not staying 6 feet away, it made me angry. I got what I needed and left, glad to get home, should not have to go out for at least 6 weeks!!! I am happy, I have been working on my deck, emptying old pots and replacing soil and planting seeds, so far I have Toms up, some herbs. Yesterday I planted some bright red poppy seeds, hope they come up, they were old seeds, they will look lovely when they bloom.

Do you have any medicine for your anxiety? I am Cymbalta 50 mg a day, it keeps my depression and anxiety under control. When I was real bad I took Lorazapam, do you have any of those? Have you tried meditating? Deep breathing with your eyes closed. I am glad you still have your job, let that be a source of comfort, many have lost theirs. So lets not think about that. Can you find things to do that keep you calm, draw, write, cook, bake, do jigsaw puzzles, go on line there are lots of games there.Do you have any good book you can read? Write to us here we will offer love and support, sending you peace, love and big hugs.....Sprinkle 1......:-) :-) :-)

Cymbalta and Wellbutrin both generic. I also take Glipized and Metformin for Diabetes. I ment that I have a job that lets us work from home instead of laying us off. We will get through this together. In spite of idots!

Yes we will as long as we all pull together, I look at it as World War, and we All have to pitch in. Sounds like you are doing a good job. If you get down, write to us here, we are here for you. We understand how you feel, it is not easy, be good to yourself, when you are not working, find things you like to do, or things you have thought you would like to do and give it a go. When I was growing up my parents encouraged us to have hobbies, we were never left with time on our hands. I do not get bored or lonely, I live by myself will be 78 next month and have my days full.....I wish you peace, send love/hugs...Sprinkle 1.....

I'm in Indiana bordering Illinois (with Family in Illinois). We've had shelter in place orders closing non-essential businesses for a while now and will likely last through part of May. While the whole situation has put my anxiety crazy on edge, the orders are actually somewhat relieving. Knowing that the state is doing something to protect people and hopefully get a handle on things is helpful in knowing that it will some day end. The thing that makes orders like that rough is it makes it feel even more real. My day to day isn't any different than it was, but it's made it a heck of a lot more stressful. Just give your kitties a cuddle and remember this WILL end.

We have been under an order where I live since March 25th. I just made sure to prepare myself for the possibility. I've made lists of things I can do when I feel anxious (because once the anxiety hits, I can't think) such as coloring, knitting, playing an online game. Mindless things that distract me but let me zone out too. Also, remember it doesn't mean you can't go outside. Take a chair and sit outside for a while. Come up with a game plan on a good day so you don't feel so overwhelmed when the rough ones come.
