My story with hope

Life has wrecked me in the worst way possible. I was a hopeful girl with a lot of dreams and ambitions but life blew me up, time after time. I've dealt with the divorce of my parents, at the age of 16 i've handled the responsibility of housework and raising my sister. I worked at the age of 17, i have a shitty relationship with my father. My economic condition is hopeless and i don't even know how to fund my master's degree. I have the worst job in my life with a really low wage. I have no social life, and my relationship with my boyfriend is so complicated. I don't know what love is. Life had not been merciful with me at all. I hated it and everyday i think about ending it. But instead i've decided to join this platform seeking help and hope. Any advice?

I know that feeling well...

Just breathe things will get better. Sometimes we have to go through bad times to realize that when good things finally come our way to cherish those good things. Sometimes these bad experiences mold us and shape us into the people we need to be in the future. Without bad experiences there wouldn’t be empathy. The more bad experiences you go through the more you are able to help other people who are having similar experiences. I know things are crappy right now but nothing lasts forever. You have to have hope. H... hold o.... on p.... pain e... ends. Im sorry that you are in a cruddy situation right now but it will get better maybe not tomorrow or next week but it will. You are strong, you are resilient. This is helping you build more resilience. You can make it through this even though some days you feel like you cant... you can.🌻

Hello and welcome to this group, alchemist.

I am sorry you feel so hopeless.

Do you have insurance? Have you thought of getting some therapy. You need a listening ear to help you sort out all your feelings and get some support and to learn and experience what love is. You need this in order to be happy someday. It is doable.

Our group can hopefully help to support you also. People sincerely want to help. Many of us in this group are now or have been in therapy for the very problems you noted.

Find a therapist if at all possible. .

If you are feeling suicidal please call someone or take yourself to the hospital.

Hey poodie, i really appreciate your words. I tried going to therapy but the therapy here is so expensive so i dropped it, also to note that i didn't feel comfortable .

Hello.

I am sorry it is so expensive there. I suppose it is not for everyone and I can understand your discomfort. I am glad you are getting responses and helpful advice here.

Take care and keep posting.

Hi. I am also a variety of you. Today I struggled with my husband. I love him dearly, He doesn't hear my hurt or sadness over his behavior; he thinks I'm an ungrateful complainer. But I'm a real person with feelings. That book: I'm from Mars and He's from Venus?

Communication is so key. Step back. Pretend maybe the other person has a misconception and work to get things straightened out.

Welcome to the space. People here give great ideas like the one above about finding a good listener. Choose a therapist or friend wisely. Sometimes a certain therapist isn't a match and you have to try again.

Just keep coming back to places like this for help. Never give up. You are a child of someone and even G-d if you believe like that. You have intrinsic value. How great that you are in a Master's Program!!

You took a good first step. This group is very supportive. I am sorry you keep getting handed these life events.

The hard part is separating what you can control and what you cannot control.

I am a list maker. Pick each drama point and make a list describing each. X off the things out of your control. You can't change those directly and they are energy sucks!

Make a dream board of everything you want, crazy or realistic. Add steps as to how to achieve it. The steps won't all come to mind at once, so leave room.

Pick out your Needs and your Wants. Maybe this boyfriend is not the right one. If he is not building you up, then he may not be best. Don't say to yourself, better him than no one. I did that and created a nightmare. You are strong and can go it alone for a while. You are worth the effort.

Speak clearly and calmly with Dad. Describe what he does. Describe how you feel. Describe what you would like him to do instead. If he chooses not to, walk away. Give it time and space.

Good luck, my friend.

Have faith that things will change, and improve, and that things will end up as they are meant to.

Have faith that even if you are worn out, you can still find the energy to plod on: Even if you take small steps, you are still making progress.

Have faith that if you slow your thinking down, you can work out how you want things to be, what needs to change, and the steps you need to take to make that happen.

Have faith in yourself, you are clearly bright, and hard working, and decent- You have attributes in abundance- Lucky girl!

Doing a shitty job isn’t going to kill you- Do it well and with a smile - It builds character and puts beans on the table - Better will come!

Your life is a journey and there will be many twists and turns. Sometimes we need to leave situations and people behind because things have run their course, and that’s OK.

Faith is the realisation of things hoped for but not yet realised, but the things you hope for will come.

Keep your chin up, put your thinking cap on, work hard, and smile as you look directly ahead!!

I am really sorry about everything! And I am very glad you decided to share. You already have gotten nice advice. Take good care of yourself and be strong. Therapy can be very helpful. Maybe you can find affordable counseling through the Social Services office. Pray for help and hope. Everything that has happened can make you stronger and wiser. Things can get better. Do your best and remain positive and strong. I wish you many blessings!

Yes and how your serotonin levels are higher.

I take a ssri. Everything is easier my mind is sharp and my body feels strong and I feel like I'm ready for anything. I can relax into my life and just go with the flow. I do what I want to do now. Before I was very tense and had no energy and my brain didnt even feel like it was functioning. It was pure hell. The ssri only really worked well once I treated my hypothyroidism as well.

Hi Thealchemist99, I totally relate to what you saying. Been there, got the T-Shirt as one says. I was like you a few years ago, very hopeful and lots of dreams. Plus I graduated at aged 50

I’ve suffered Domestic Abuse. Went through divorce and bereavement. Struggled financial instability with having to work zero contracted hours.

Then one day, my grief bucket got too full and I ended up having a mental breakdown. I now suffer with PSTD and high levels of Anxiety. Been on loads of meds and tried to commit suicide twice.

However, I am now in recovery, though finding myself overwhelmed at the moment, with everything what’s going on with this deadly virus and scared I loose all sense of reality.

Fortunately though, I have been on recovery for about 1yr before this out break and have studied Mindfulness, Meditation and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and medication free.

I had to learn to stay in the present moment, not worry about tomorrow and remind myself that I can’t change what happened yesterday. I also, learned how to love and be kind to myself, and be very thankful for what I do have. Which at this present moment is ‘Happiness in my Soul’ and feel fortunate that I have a home that is warm and food to feed myself.

Hope you agree, ‘Life Could Be A Lot Worse’

However, don’t get me wrong, life is still hard, but I don’t give up on ‘HOPE’ and ‘Dreams’ Take care and Stay Safe 😘X
