Hi on Oct 19th I had what I believe to be a panic attack that lasted 2 days I have had 2 other attacks before but both were induced by drugs one from smoking pot (I don't usually smoke pot) and then another one from too much meds at the doctors for a headache this time it happened on the 19th I wasn't on anything I'm on zoloft and klonopin now but it's been a living hell. Heart pounding, can't sleep or eat idk what to do. I have started counseling but nothing seems to calm me and I'm scared.

Anxiety, zoloft, klonopin, can't calm down.
Yeah I have told my counselor I have only seen her twice so far so not much has come of it yet. I feel like zoloft is making me worse or the klonopin I'm not sure.
Who put you on the medication? I’d talk to your doctor if you have concerns about your medications. I’ve had to change my medications so many times because they just weren’t working or were making me worse. But there is a good quote that id like to share when having a panic attack:
"Breathe. You're going to be okay. Breathe and remember that you've been in this place before. You've been this uncomfortable and anxious and scared, and you've survived. Breathe and know that you can survive this too. These feelings can't break you. They're painful and debilitating, but you can sit with them and eventually, they will pass. Maybe not immediately, but sometime soon, they are going to fade and when they do, you'll look back at this moment and laugh for having doubted your resilience. I know it feels unbearable right now, but keep breathing, again and again. This will pass. I promise it will pass."

My primary care doctor put me on them but I think I should see a phyciatrist instead and thank you for that quote it almost made me cry but in a good way I appreciate it ♡
LunaRose, it is always best to go to a psychiatrist for medication since they are more experienced in that area. Good Luck x
How long have you been taking the meds? For a lot of people, the first 3 or 4 weeks on Zoloft are pretty bad. The side effects are awful and then make your anxiety worse before you start feeling better. It can take a full 4-6 weeks for them to start working.
5 days but idk if I can make it 4 to 6 weeks like this :,( I was on prozac first for about a week then was switched to zoloft but I feel like the zoloft is giving me worse side effects then the prozac.
She wants me to try and stay on them a little longer to see if things improve at all
I know it's hard and sometimes it's just not possible with the things going on in life that we have to do. If you think you can, try as hard as you can to stay on. My first 3 weeks on Zoloft were horrible with nausea, heightened anxiety, insomnia, vivid dreams, tired all the time and sleeping most of the day.
Around the 4th week, it started getting much better.
If it works for you, it's worth the 3-4weeks of feeling like crap. The side effects affect everyone differently. Some feel better after only a week or 2. Maybe you'll get lucky and that will be your case.
Hang in there if you can.
I found he side affects weren't as bad if I took mine at night before I went to bed. Taking it in the morning seemed to make me feel worse.
I'm afraid to take it at night because insomnia but my doctor prescribed me trazodone for sleep hopefully it helps I hear a lot of people take it in the morning so that's what I'll try I was taking it at 4pm and that wasn't working for me. I'll try during the day and if that doesn't help I'll take it at night because I haven't slept barley at all the last 5 days
I know how you feel. I loose sleep ...panic ..attacks take klonopin and starting another drug. The only thing I can say is stay away from pot. Makes anxiety worse.
