It is day 5 of being on 50mg from 25mg on Zoloft. Feeling "eh..." anxiety is off and on. Not nearly as intense thankfully... I'm losing patience though. Will it ever work?

Day 5 of Zoloft 50mg Increase
Please hang in there☹️
Anything worthwhile is well worth waiting for. Unfortunately, nothing comes
easy in life. Believe in your doctor. The double dose can take several more weeks
to reach full efficacy. How sad it would be to give up too soon. Wishing you my
best. xx
I had been on Zoloft many years until it stopped working for me. (Many many years) lolI can remember it taking almost 2 weeks to feel the good effects after each titrate. The only side effect I had was tunnel vision but that went away about 4 days after taking my very first dose.
It's a great med, I hope it works for you soon.
Oh yes. I felt worse when I first started on 25mg. Then it got so much better.
Thank you for that reminder. I’m so impatient. When I start having anxiety I’m like, “NOPE…”
I just want to feel better again.
How long have you been taking it altogether? You really need to give it 6-8 weeks or even longer. 50 mg is not a therapeutic (strong enough) dose for most people. I took Zoloft for many years (until it stopped working) and was on 200mg most of that time. You may not need that much, but you have to find what works for you, by increasing the dose at reasonable intervals, staying on that dose 7-10 days, and then repeating at a higher dose if you're sill not seeing an effect.
I have been taking it a little over one month. I am on day six or seven of the 50 mg. I hope I can stay at 50 mg.
You haven't been taking long plus you are on a relatively small dose at 50mg and it can take 4 - 6 weeks and even longer to make a difference. Part of what maintains your anxiety is your anxious thinking about it and hyper-focusing on it and how you are feeling. Understand that anxiety is a paradox and the more you focus on it and fight it or worry about it the more it persists so try to let it go and get on with your day and give the meds time to work and your body and mind the time it takes to adjust.
Thank you for the reassurance. I tend to be impatient. And yes, I overthink everything to a huge vault. It’s like I’m gauging my anxiety and thoughts.
I totally understand, i've been there too. I've found meds helped but I still had issues and have spent a lot of time learning about anxiety and how to deal with it. Understanding what is really going on and how to constructively deal with it helps take the mystery out of it and helps reduce the anxiety. You might check out the DARE Anxiety book and youtube videos and the youtube videos of Paige Pradko. They both take similar approaches and make it simple to understand. I refer back to them when I am feeling stuck.
