Thanks, I'm sorry to hear that you have this too, but it does help to know I'm not the only person with this . It's the worst thing I've ever had to deal with.

I have to get up slowly and carefully and try not to make any sudden moves. If not I get extremely dizzy. I take meclizine if the dizziness gets really bad. You can get it over the counter. It's non drowsy dramamine. No one has ever been able to determine why it happens. Have you talked to your primary care provider about this? Last year my daughter had severe dizziness that was making her nauseous. I never quite understood what she had but it was something to do with her ears. If it didn't get better there was a therapy she could try. Luckily she didn't need to. Also ear infections can cause dizziness. I have had ear infections where my only symptom was dizziness. It would hurt to check with your doctor

Yes... it can be from an ear issue, neck issue at least that’s why I get dizzy spells. Try getting tested for inner ear problem, menieres or neck issue maybe. Do you have ringing in your ears? Do you get dizzy when changing positions like laying down to sitting or standing? Do bright lights, motion, noise or visual stimulus make it worse? Is your blood pressure / volume / iron levels been checked? That’s all I can think of. For me I get dizzy when my salt intake is too high, water in my ears, bad ear infections, neck is tense or my pain levels are high like when I’m due for nerve block treatment or need CBD.... hope this helps or gives u a starting point or another avenue to look into...

Pretty much dizzy all the time,

Some tinnitus

Neck and shoulders tight

Some nausea

BP is been checked as a cause.

2 ct scans one a month ago 1 a year ago

Bloodwork several times

Ekgs

Ent

Have found no physical cause

When you say dizzy, is it like light headedness like you’re going to fall or like things/you are spinning or moving all the time? Have your doctor do a HINTS exam on you. Ever got mri for the nerves in your brain?

CanuckAnon profile image
CanuckAnon in reply toTimmypliskin

Sounds similar to me.... sometimes CT’s won’t show.... Did ENT do a balance test? It’s a horrible experience but it does show balance issues immediately. Do u get dizzier when u put your head back when standing? Google menieres ... it can be hard to disgnose. Try reducing your sodium intake maybe? Do you have a water softener btw? You would be surprised how much sodium is in food. Coffee cream has sodium....

I saw a specialist ENT for the testing. I get tinnitus when neck is tight, lights are bright, eaten too much salt, too much stimulus when in motion and when my pain is at a super high level.

I totally get about how it interferes in your daily life.... it can suck bad at times.... sadly at times there’s not much u can do for it.

I found meds did not work, medicinal marijuana did though. CBD for pain, THC for muscle tightness, ADHD, anxiety and getting to sleep when my ears will not stop ringing. One thing that does help although I do not have insurance coverage for is physio, massage and acupuncture on pressure points at base of skull. I get nerve blocks now in same places which help pain, muscles bunching up etc. They also seem to reduce tinnitus and dizziness unless it’s my ears causing it....

Good days and bad days, I come to notice the dizziness worst when tension is stronger

Take a look through some of my posts - I just got my dizziness back after being free of it for months. Right before it came back I was working overtime hunched over a desk at the computer for a month to get graphic design ready for a last minute trade show. For me it's definitely tension/posture related and it's BAD. I considered going to the ER but instead I gave it a day or so and it has been slowly improving. That's also because I don't really suffer daily anxiety anymore. When I DID suffer daily, the dizziness was constant.

You might have vertigo ? Has anyone told you that ?

What about your tummy is it sick too? If so do you take anything for it? Anxiety meds should help. Try doing chin tucks slowly and only 2 reps of ten. 3x day... slowly. Lay on the floor with your knees bent in a squat position with feet against the wall. Just lay there and slight pressure through the feet. You can also stand beside a wall and knees slightly bent pelvis tucked slightly in and one arm raise slightly pressure on that arm. It’s likely from right traps and back chest you start guarding so this happens. Nothing rough for exercise you need gentle.

Can you tell me what these exercises would be called or classified under so I could look them up? Thanks!

Worrying is anxiety. When I didn’t know I had anxiety, I was dizzy all the time. I couldn’t walk without walking to my right side. Talk to a dr. about anxiety, and what the symptoms are. My best to you.

I have a condition called BBPV and your problems sound very similar. Has your GP looked into sending you for an eplay manoeuvre ? A really simple procedure that works miracles. Good luck, hope you get some answers soon.

Hi Timmy

So sorry to hear your dismay.

Could I suggest that you could perhaps go to the opticians.

It’s only that I suffer from dizziness and chronic vertigo due to an acoustic neuroma on the brain.

It’s both got a lot worse recently.

Any way went to opticians for a check up and the lovely said I’m on the border line of perhaps having laser eye surgery.

It’s something to do with the pressure in the back of the eyes.glaucoma is it ?

Any way if you’ve problems with this, this can cause chronic dizziness and vertigo and nausea.

Just something I learnt the other day

Worth a shot perhaps ?

Have a lovely day though

Talk to a neurologist to see if you have functional neurological disorder

Have you checked for vertigo? I had dizziness on and off 2 yrs. With ppd. Finally lifted and went away with help of antidepressant and time.

I went to neurologist, had mri, optometrist twice, therapy and medicine. They basically all told me was depression/anxiety.

I'm sorry. I have dealt with Mental Health most of my life. But I haven't experienced it (Dizziness) to that extreme. Hope you feel better. Have you been to a Eye and Ear specialist? I know my mom suffered from Verigo and that was exactly how she felt. I hope they can find and cure you. 🙏

I feel your pain. I have dizziness every day from the moment I wake up. I usually always feel sick when I wake up. It's such a miserable way to live. I have been to so many specialists- ENT specialist, opthalmologist, neurologist- had a bunch of tests done and a decade later I'm still left here with no answers. In my experience, none of the doctors have cared and have just given up on me. It's so disheartening. I take 3 meds every day just to function and I hate it so much. Everyday life is such a struggle. Pristiq, propranolol and lorazepam. I feel like the regular ones wouldn't even work if I didn't take the lorazepam every day, which is my life saver.

Exactly, I cant even get that far

It took the doctors a couple months before they would even see me. I love how our suffering can just wait for them. No one cares until it's happening to them.

I know exactly what you mean, especially with dizziness, you can just see it in their eyes.... they don't want to deal with it

I also suffer from dizziness and sometimes vertigo ( was told vertigo is when the room is spinning). They never got to the bottom of the cause (insurance would not pay for the test I needed), but it was successfully treated with a medicine called transderm scop which is sometimes given for seasickness. My doctor will give it to me freely now, but in the past I told them I was going on a cruise and got it. It is a patch that goes behind the ear and absorbed through the skin. Over the years it got better and it has been years since i have had a serious problem with it. The problem first came on with a period of extream stress about 35 years ago.

It helped me dealing with medical doctors to be as specific as possible in describing the symptoms and conditions of onset. Hope you get to the bottom of this soon.

There are also several over the counter seasickness pills and devices that have helped me, like seasickness wrist bands and a wrist watch like device with electrodes on the back that gave mild electrical stimulation to the wrist that have helped me with symptoms at times.
