Not good with titles

I’ve know about my depression for a while, but I liked into it today and I think I also have borderline personality disorder. No one in my family knows. I also have dysphoria. I just constantly feel like I can’t talk to anyone. I constantly go from having a good day to having a bad day. It’s a mix of saddness loneliness and nothingness. From what I’ve seen this community is so welcoming. Does anyone have tips on how to handle the loneliness? I feel it’s the one emotion I can’t handle.

I am suffering with depression and anxiety and think the current root cause is loneliness i fine coming on here talking and reading posts takes my mind of it, hope you find something that works for you, I currently go nowhere and see no one, but when i was younger i went everywhere and saw everyone but still felt sadness and loneliness then too not sure why.

Loneliness is definitely a beast. I find it sad but comforting that other people feel that way I do. I know that I’m lonely now because I lost someone close to me to suicide and I never fully recovered from it. A similar situation could have happened when you where younger to trigger your loneliness. I think this community definitely makes me a little less lonely when I think others are in the same boat, I hope you feel the same way and have a place you can get a little comfort. If you ever need to talk about it I’m definitely all ears. A friend of mine always tells me that we were born with two ears not two mouths.

Hi,

You could try the following:

- meetup.com

- joining local community groups

- volunteering

I think that most people feel lonely at different times in their life for many reasons. People could be surrounded by a group of people and still feel lonely. What are the factors that contribute to your loneliness? Have you had a recent loss? Do you isolate yourself from others? Is it difficult for your to make friends? If you have any special interests that you can pursue, you may have more opportunities to make connections. I have had several losses over that past few years and I have really had to be intentional about cultivating deeper relationships. I really try to focus on being a healthy person and bring my best self without a lot of expectation. I maintain good boundaries and take time to know people at a deeper level. As a result, and I am beginning to attract the same kind of people in my life.
