Missing Gidget!!😭

I went to our local shelter and found this gorgeous, super super loving, fun, silly and smart dog but she was over my allowed weight limit on a dog! I'm extremely depressed since having to take her back too. I'm stuck getting a little dog and I'm a huge big dog lover. Truly sucks taking her back cause in a day and a half I fell so in love with her!!! I'm so lost right now and don't know how to get over her but it will take a lot of time. I'm going to be super careful looking for dogs to adopt so I don't put a dog or me thru this horrible feeling. I'm so darn worried about her right now its CRAZY!! She was EVERYTHING I wanted in a dog too which makes it so hard right now. That and her lovable nature🐾💗💗💗💗

What a bummer. I'm sorry Gidget didn't work out for you. I hope that you can feel better about getting a different dog fairly soon. A possible "trick" for your mind might be to focus on the things you like about dogs in general instead of focusing on what you loved about Gidget. But I totally understand how hard it would be to take a dog back.

Thanks! I'm taking my time looking before taking one home from now on. My mom rushed me into getting Gidget. I'm glad I had her for less than 2 days cause she was a blast to be around and extremely loving. I love everything about dogs!! Its tough for me cause I really love big dogs and to get even medium sized will be tough loving such big dogs all my life. I'm sure eventually their will be perfect match. Hopefully soon but taking my time.

I have a 15 pound mini poodle and he has just as much love to give as a big dog! You just have to find the right dog for you and your home. Sometimes you have to expand your point of view too. I thought I'd never find the right dog if looking at adult rescues vs puppies but my Ollie is perfect and no house training needed so I'm glad I was wrong!!

Oh I totally agree small dogs are just as great I just have always loved big dogs. There's more to love😄🐾💗 Love big lap dogs like Gidget! I'm only looking at adopting from shelter and not looking at puppies. I'm glad you found your sweet dog!! I'm sure he is just a love!! Praying to find one soon but taking my time so I don't have to go thru taking the poor dog back. Gidget will be going to farm in a beautiful part of Utah. She'll be happy I took her back to have the life she'll have soon. She got adopted hours after I brought her back!!! Cool and super loving dog. They are so lucky they adopted her.

Can you weigh them at the shelter first, so you know they're not over the limit?

It must be tough to return a dog after you start to get attached to it.

I wish there was cause then I wouldn't miss her so damn much!!! Turned out she'll be going home probably Friday to a farm in apple valley utah. Its so beautiful and she'll be soooo much happier running free on a farm where a border collie needs to be. In so beyond devastated! She gave huge hugs and unbelievably loving!! I got so attached to her in less than 2 days. I thought she would work out cause of her breed size but I'd throw a toy from the couch and she'd literally fly onto couch and fly off of it and my downstairs neighbor would of complained eventually. She was such a fun girl!!!

Lol you've never had a dog??? I love big dogs so much it'll be hard to even get medium dog. Gidget was a tiny bit bigger and that was my fault I should of known shed be too big. You're missing out if you've never known the true love of a dog. They're awesome🐾🐾

When I was a kid, my mother wouldn't let us get a dog. She said, "I'm the one who'll end up taking care of it!!" (She was right.) So no dog. But some friends and relatives have had dogs, and I had fun with them over the years. That's enough for me. Cleaning up poop is not part of my skill set.

Thank you! She was an amazing and lovable girl! Great hugs and a big lap dog which I loved!!🐾💗🐾💗 Miss her so MUCH. I'm struggling having to get smaller dog cause I love big dogs so much. I'm sure they are just as cool just love the big guys so MUCH! Thanks for the prayers cause I'm hoping to find a great dog very soon but taking my time. Want a pitbull but can't here. Sucks!!! Oh I have to get more a medium sized dog or even smaller. Then it will be fine. Gidget being a border collie was very very hard to take back but she ended up on a farm in apple valley utah. Being a herding breed she deserves to be outside running free not stuck in a small condo. I'm just so happy for her!! She was adopted hours after taking her back. She was that awesome!!!

I hope your medium/small dog is lighter on their feet than our chihuahua- who sounds like a Great Dane sometimes 😂
