Depressed and alone

I’ve never been so depressed in my life. I just had to put my dog down after having her for 16 years. I am an only child so my dog grew up with me like a sister. She was my support system and was there for me whenever I needed her. Now I have no one and I’m going through the hardest loss I’ve ever dealt with.

I'm so sorry. I understand how you feel. I had to put my dog down seven years ago, and it was one of the hardest moments of my life.

Hi there I'm sorry for the loss its hard to get over the loss of a animal some even liken it to a loss of a loved one! In time the pain will ease but at the same time remember the good times you had together and if you thinking of them they are in your heart! I hope things ease for you all the best david

I'm sorry for your loss. I've been in your shoes before. I had my best friend starting at 12 and her as a 3 month old puppy for 14 years. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, when I let her go. Since then, I've had two older dogs that have since passed plus 1 cat recently after 16 years. It doesn't get easier letting them go but I know each 1 of them had a good, safe and happy home with me just as I'm sure your friend had with you. You will get to remember all of the good times you had together which will help a bit. Just know you were her best friend too and you were there for her.

I'm so sorry. I've put down many pets, and the last time really had me reeling with loss. When you are feeling ready, remember that somewhere near you there is a shelter filled with animals in need of loving forever friends. There is a special bond between humans and animals - we need each other. I send you good wishes for comfort and strength during this sad time.

Believe me I know how you feel. I lost my dog after 13 years. It was the hardest thing I have gone thru. I can say it changed the trajectory of my life. I would encourage you to get another one. I did and it helped. May God bless you and comfort you.
