Other self harmers

So I was sitting in a A n E because a family member had become unwell, while I was there I notice a girl who was very smiley and kind looking, after a few hours, she had taken her coat off I notice one arm was covered in self harm scars and what appeared to be some recent but not fresh wounds, I tried not to look, but it had bothered me so much I had to go sit in the car in the car park. It didn't bother me for the fact that she was wearing a short sleeve shirt and had them on show. It bothered me by how much I was triggered by it.

But in actual fact all I wanted to do was give her a big hug

I get triggered by that myself. You are a compassionate person. You know the scars come from her pain. You must have a big and kind heart.

You sound like a really kind hearted person.

I think I’d probably fall apart if someone noticed mine.

I’m scared it could get me fired - you never know how some businesses will react.

My heart goes out to the girl you mentioned.
