I thought I would put my lovely Newfoundland dog here because she is my pride and joy. She's a rescue and when I brought her home last year she did not know how to play with toys. She never made eye contact or wagged her tail either. She turned 3 in November, so it's telling that no one bothered to play with her, and I know she had been handed off to a number of shelters before I found her. She was also abused in some way, since she had what can only be described as a sort of canine PTSD, but she's relaxed and happy now. Stares at me all of the time and her big fluffy tail is always wagging. I hope you all think she's swell!

Adorable 🥰
Aww 🥰
She is really beautiful, so cuddly looking
Wow!
Ive been think my next fog will be this breed, they are really lovely.
I saw two yesterday and they where gorgeous.
They are wonderful dogs! Harder to train than Labrador Retrievers, which is what I had before, but they are affectionate and super smart. They are a lot of work though! So much fur!
I had a retriever before also, the fur shedding would be the one thing to put me off.
I'll look into it more when the time comes though and have a good think about it.
Newfies shed a great deal, and no matter how much she is groomed or how often we vacuum, hair is everywhere. Even in our food, often enough. They also drool. A lot. I honestly think having a Newfoundland is more a lifestyle thing, because they tend to take over. They are also not good running companions, if that's a consideration. But they are working dogs, well known for water rescue and pulling carts. Our Lottie does none of that. She's just a perfect companion dog and settles for walkies and gentle play time.
Walkies are fine with me, they are lovely dogs and def a lifestyle thing.
I'll give it a lot of thought before I do it, but not planning on it just now.
Absolutely wonderful.
My sister just got a puppy. He is a Lab/Black Nose Cur mix. They are hoping he will be a comfort dog.
