I have been battling anxiety for 9 years but lately it has been getting really bad and have also been very depressed.. I come home and just want to sit and cry, I’m losing desire to do anything that I used to love.. it’s even harder when I have to raise my 5 year old that needs me and I hardly have the patience to.. life is getting harder, I feel like it’s not going anywhere, I feel stagnant and I don’t know what else to do... I feel like I’m drowning

Anxiety and depression
Those are always the hardest for me. So I get were your coming from. Whenever I start to feel that way I try to stay out of my room as much as possible and give myself natural night. They say that working out helps a lot to restart your mind and body. Self talk and mediation should help as well, reminding yourself that at one point you weren’t stagnant, and it will be that way again.
Thank you, I try and leave the room and allow myself 5 mins of deep breaths .. I think meditation may help as well
crys, I've had anxiety for as long as I could remember. I never thought it would subside. But eventually I am back in control of my life. Besides having had therapy and medication, I found what works for me best. For me, it was the key to success.
First I finally realized and accepted that I do have anxiety and not some undiagnosed disease that I thought doctors were missing. And most recently, while browsing YouTube, I got into Meditation, Mindfulness (living in the Present Moment) and Deep Breathing. With those tools I over came 5 years of being Agoraphobic.
Whatever works for you takes time especially after 9 years. But it will happen for you in that you will reach your goal. xx
Hi crys_10br and Welcome to this Support forum.
When anxiety gets to the point that you are at right now, it's time to reach out for
professional help. Seeing a therapist, being on short term medication, can help you stop spinning your wheels and get back on the right track. Once there is a plan in place, it will allow you to go forward. It's always a good idea along with therapy and possibly meds, to get yourself acquainted with other methods that will calm both your mind and body. Taking some "me time" respites during the day can make quite a difference in how you will feel overall. After struggling with anxiety for 9 years, you can't help but go into a depression which also must be treated by a professional.
I'm glad you did find this forum to come to in getting additional support and understanding. It's a safe place to come when feeling overwhelmed. As we share our life's journey with mental illness, we learn from others on the site who like ourselves struggle each day. We find that we are never alone. Looking forward in getting to know how we can help you. xx
Hi ,talk to your doctor,if you feel like your drowning ,are you on any meds for low mood?🙏
Hi
I went through clinical depression and anxiety on an off for 18 years. Someone recommended acupuncture to get rid of both. After 5 sessions I was free of both. I recommend you try it but first make sure that the doc has treated people for Depression and anxiety and had success
I'm sorry about your painful feelings. Don't give up. Try to focus on your 5 year old. Is it a girl or boy? Name? What are some activities you like to do together? Keep yourself connected to positive people and say positive things to yourself many times each day.
