I'm so fed up of feeling like I do. Every time I feel like I'm getting somewhere, something else happens to put me right back on square one. How do you carry on when you feel like you can't?

Exhausted
I'm sorry your feeling this way Kiraarrr....it's frustrating and exhausting.... can you share more about what is going on in your life....
It probably sounds silly to other people, but we're having major problems with our neighbours (who live in the flat upstairs) being noisy to the point where they're waking me up two to three times a night. I'm lucky if I get three hours sleep most nights, and this causes me to have major panic attacks
Then they stop for a night or two, and I start to get myself into a place where I can see the light at the end of the tunnel... Then they start again the next night!
I just don't know how to feel okay again
Sorry for the rant!
Don't be sorry.... it's a very valid issue believe me I have complete empathy for you. Have you any way to deal with them, by law..if you feel safe enough to do so, contact them by letter and let them know your situation, be very diplomatic...and say things like you may not be aware of...blah blah...but we hear everything and we are unable to sleep. Doing that shows you made a valid effort on your part to resolve the issue.... if nothing happens... do the same with the landlord... sign and date the letters and send them certified mail.... this is important... and if they don't fix it.... I have one for you.... don't laugh... but it's a good one. You now can actually file a police report for disturbing the peace, a noise abatement claim....if your landlord won't do anything. And the report can also include, copies of your notes to the tenants, and landlord showing good faith on your part to previously try to diplomatically resolve the problem. The owners of the building and landlord have failed to provide a decent living condition for you; a tenant. If the landlord owns the building, they could eventually get a fine if they don't comply with stopping the noise. And if they just manage the property.... the owners would get him or her in line right away to avoid any hassle.
It sounds drastic, but it's a worse case scenario of what if's.... but don't you deserve to have a decent living space, are you paying for it.... then that's your right.
We've got a council noise complaint going at the moment an the landlord is aware, it's just getting me so down, I've been signed off work until Sunday, and with the way I'm feeling right now I'm not even sure I'm up for going back to work
I just don't know what to do anymore
Maybe find out about what the next action is.... and you shouldn't have to do this but it may keep your sanity... do you have any noise cancelling headphones or better yet earbuds so you can just tune all this racket out....and give your head a break.... record some meditative music.... or even quiet poetry to focus your mind on....just to take you away from it for a while. Also do you have any 'calmers'... there is a natural herbal called : 'Kalms' and 'Night Kalms'... they actually do work a bit... and if you are on meds that are prescribed you may want to ask your doctor for advice and help. I'm sorry your going through this hell.... I have been there and done that... wish I could take you here with us in the country... no planes, horns, sirens, boom box bass, no cars other than occasional tractor.... I know what it's like in the city
Though I'm not dealing with a neighbor issue, I have my days where I don't know how I'm going to make it through the day. I put one foot in front of the other and I just push forward. God definitely strengthens me when I am at my weakest so I'm not doing it in my own strength at all.
