Hi, maybe you could accept the counselling and at your first session talk to him/ her about how you feel about 'dragging' up the past. It doesn't have to be like that. Good therapy should be led by you and isn't just about talking about the past . Something like CBT is more about understanding how your mind works and how in turn that effects your emotions. I think it's worth a go! Best of luck X

Thank you so much and I think you just might be right. Think I will give it a try and see how it goes. It's just the thought of it at the moment, you know :)

If you have gone through various losses, with other concerns your GP may feel you would benefit from this treatment, You need to come to terms with your loss and the other problems you need to come to terms with if you are overwhelmed a course of CBT can help you move on. In your case I would strongly advise you attend. You have nothing to lose and a great deal to gain. It is not really dragging things back it is all to do is bring back happy memories and coming to terms with the feelings of loss you are suffering from. This treatment will help You. It has helped me a long time ago when I lost my Surrogate Family and Grandparents

If you need support we are here to help. Let me know how you get on

That's exactly what my Doctor said. I'm having great difficulty in coming to terms with things and that is what is causing a lot of the Anxiety/Depression at the moment. Going to give it a go. It can't do any harm to go and see can it? I am SO grateful for your advice and glad that it helped you. I will definitely let you know and thanks a lot. Just feeling very nervous about it presently.
