Thankyou Claire. I appreciate that. She's having a low day today....last night she barricaded herself in her room, I'd been called out to work so it was a rush then to get back. Spent 6 hours then talking her down. I slept on the floor by the side of her and she's still low today. I'm at a loss Claire. I really am. There's not much help out there for kids with special needs and that are vulnerable so I sometimes feel the walls are closing around on me and I know that's how it is for Lucy also. I can come here for support which in turn and I'm very grateful for...helps me help Lucy. Thank you Claire xx
I cannot imagine what seeing your child in pain does to you, and knowing that there is only so much you can do. Sending good wishes, strength and prayers.
Honestly Claire(sigh) it's heartbreaking. She's really had it tough. Before she started secondary school she was completely different. No one made fun of her hearing aids...No one made fun of her eyes(she has Marcus Gunn Sequence aka jaw winking phenomenon) No one made fun of her little chin(Pierre Robin Syndrome) and the fact she can't speak clearly. Yes she struggled but she was happy. She sang as a modern day Mary in the school play(complete with T shirt with "I love Joseph" on it lol). When she left she thought she was just visiting the new school for a day and going back..she couldn't comprehend why she was having to leave. I explained...we all explained. So lulu being lulu just tried to fit in and be herself. From the 3rd week in boy called Ben bullied her. When I say bully...many times a day...5 days a week for 17 months. School did nothing. Myself and her father went in...called...wrote letters. We weren't allowed to take her out as they then started threatening us with court. So we kept her off. Her mental health declined so much she's now attempted suicide....many times. So I took her out and I'll take the consequences. She has low days but honestly...she smiles most and does her school work. I'm so very proud of her. Thankyou for thinking of her...it means so much to me. X
