I've had a lot of stress going on lately and my anxiety is through the rough. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced what I just did/am.
I've been feeling off today, sorta like I'm just a little off balance. Then I just had a pretty strong with sharp pain skipped beat or palpitation that lasted for a good ten-fifteen seconds and then immediately I got really flushed and hot across my chest and face.
I'm worried it's something more than just a benign heart palpitation, but I'm also seriously scared of going to the hospital so I'm stuck in this horrid limbo.
Can anyone relate?

I get similar sometimes but it’s costochondritis …inflamed cartilage in the chest mimics heart trouble….but best you get checked by a healthcare professional because the only qualifications I’ve got are in construction although I do have some swimming certificates too

I am impressed 👍 ☺️
I had to google Costochondritis. Thanks for the info, SS.
~~Costochondritis (kos-toe-kon-DRY-tis) is an inflammation of the cartilage that connects a rib to the breastbone (sternum). Pain caused by costochondritis might mimic that of a heart attack or other heart conditions.~~
If you need advice on unblocking your sink or how to do 50 m backstroke I’m your man 😄….hope you don’t get costochondritis it’s really painful when it’s bad ….stress can cause it too ……happy Sunday hope it’s been peaceful for you 🌿
Just reminded me youde read it …..im a big advocate of hers and the chapter about floating above your problems seemed relevant to the post even if no one can make sense of anything I say except you 😅
It is an excellent book, I have read it twice. Actually, I really do a very good job of "floating" through some of my rougher situations. I never would of known of her book if it had not been for HU. Grateful is an understatement. 🙏🏻
Hi there! I'm sorry that you are dealing with this. The physical symptoms of anxiety can be brutal. I had the same feelings of sharp chest pains, heart palpitations, dizziness, tight throat, and I don't wish this on anyone. Anxiety can last awhile and mimic heart attack symptoms. You're not alone here. Sending good thoughts your way ❤
I get the exact same thing. I have been to the Dr. and cardiologist and they never find anything wrong. I feel like I am going to dye sometimes. I was told to drink a lot of water. I also notice they get really bad before my menstrual cycle. I have very high anxiety and I know that is a huge part of it, but I, like you, feel like they are missing something or that something is really very wrong. It is really scary.
Hello my dear. I know it is very frightening to experience what you did. I have had many skipped heartbeats etc..during the course of my life. Still with your symptoms and out of caution I would go see my doctor to rule anything. I did and felt better for it. Good luck and namaste.
I get that all the time. I thought it was normal until I was sent to the Cardiologist and after testing he found that I have LBBB. Its nothing serious and I don't have to take medication and it won't shorten my life. Just to be sure I would go to your doctor and see if you should have testing done. Don't stress about it. It's probably nothing serious. Also make sure your getting all your vitamins and minerals especially Magnesium. Good luck!
I can certainly relate, Brightfuture22. I've had palpitations like yours for decades and the reassurance I have gotten from doctors and tests goes only so far because the experience, whenever it happens, can be terrifying and very uncomfortable. I completely understand why you don't want to get this checked out but I urge you to do it. Rule out anything other than benign paplitations. If there is something else going on it can be treated. Though the reassurance you get may not stop you from worrying about this, at least you won't have the extra burden of wondering about that aspect of it. You are not alone! Many, many people have this.....
Yes I have experienced that in the past. Most likely it is brought on by the increased stress your experiencing. It helps me to put on some calming instrumental music and taking some slow deep breaths. If it worsens you can call your doctor. Praying for your peace of mind!
I get that a lot, including the flushing. Most of it is probably stress, but some could be hormonal changes. My Dr always told told me not to be concerned about sharp pains that are short lived- mostly chest wall muscle strain from changes in breathing patterns after prolonged stress. You are good to go MaMa! Stay strong!
Yes, I can relate! I've been having heart palpitations quite a bit the past few months, and I do get stressed and anxious a lot. I also have these weird hot flashes in my face once in a while and I'm almost positive it's all due to stress! Breathing exercises, staying busy, redirecting my thoughts and prayer help me.
Yep, I've had this too. I've also had electrolyte issues, which complicated matters. Once my electrolyte issues were resolved, I was able to tell the difference between those caused by anxiety and those caused by low electrolytes. I agree with the others here- definitely go get them checked out if you haven't already. Sometimes when I get them I get really scared of them, so I remind myself that if it really were heart trouble, I'd have a hard time with things like walks and stairs and strenuous activity. Really hope they start to settle for you soon.
