I finally went to a new doctor today to discuss tapering off of my SSRI. I am so excited to get this started. I know it’s going to be a very long journey but it makes me so happy that my new doctor was so nice and I feel like she actually wants to help me do this. I am taking 10mg of lexapro currently and I am going to be taking 10mg one day and then 7.5mg the next day, going back and forth for a month and then will see how I feel and if how the process is going.

It's so good to hear you got a good doc who makes you feel like she actually wants to help. I hope this journey will be a good one!
That is very good to hear! And luckily your dosage is quite low so it won’t be as hard to taper off.
Keep up the good work and stay positive (drink lots of water too)
best of luck in your endeavor.
why do you need to stop taking SSRI's if they work for you.....or are they not working....is this because you don't feel you should be taking them, or is this because you don't like the idea of having to take them...just curious....I know there is a lot of stigma attached to taking anti depressants for some and they feel by not taking them it removes the stigma.
