I need some help, I’m scared that the meds will not work and that I’ll always feel depressed. I’ve had a few episodes in my life so far. I am now on citalopram. I am 62 years old and I was taking 10mg for four weeks then upped to 20mg for five weeks, and still on the 20mg. I’m still feeling very low, how long before the meds start working. I also feel very spacey on them, does this go away?

Thank you for replying to me. Is that 6-8 weeks from each time I increase the dose?
I’m not sure about that, but I would definitely think so. It might be that it’s not quite 6-8 weeks but I would imagine that you would have a period where your body needs to adjust to the different dose
