So my anxiety has been great recently. Ive been running a lot and things that usually trigger me don’t anymore! Walking home, I saw my ex’s car parked outside my apartment building which made me have a bit of a panic attack. Any advice on handling this?

Hi mhunnell19, I saw your post a minute after your run but truthfully didn't know how to answer it. I'm wondering what you ended up doing...Did you see him? How did it affect you? xx

No, it was just the car. It doesn’t sound like much but it bothered me. I hid in my room the rest of the day and breathing was ehh

Oh I understand mhunnell19.....anything that is a reminder whether it be the car, a song, a thought or a place can send up the red flags. I hope you have settled down some by now. Using breathing is helpful but keeping your mind busy is necessary. xx

it sounds like you have had some terrible trauma with your ex-...do you have a restraining order on them....and why is their car outside your apartment building. Is this person actively harassing you?....to hide in your room from them is an extremely serious reaction...if you feel your in danger....what steps have you taken to protect yourself legally and protection at home..re-unforced locks etc. I am so sorry your in this much fear....can you share more about this....are you okay now?

Yeah I’m fine. And no I don’t. When I was pregnant we weren’t together and I did deal with a lot of harassment from him. Like he’d try to pressure me into an abortion and lie to his family to the point where one of them sent me a lot of rude messages. I went to the school to discuss getting a “no contact” order but after the miscarriage I didn’t see a point

hiding in the room does not sound fine honey....I am just concerned for you...and would maybe suggest you get some counselling....it sounds like you dealt with a lot of trauma around your miscarriage and this ex- and his family.
