3 am...awake again.

This seems to be a routine thing. I go to bed around 930 or 10, take my sleeping medicine to help with my anxiety so that I'm able to sleep. Then i wake up in the middleof the night. Exhausted but unable to get back to sleep. Laying here thinking about all the things i need to do or cant do or want to do. Or just mindlessly scroll through social media until i eventually doze back off. But my goodness does that make mornings hard. Sick of waking up. I just want to sleep and not be exhausted 24/7!!

Hi SabMar, have you tried listening to guided meditations on Youtube? I love the channel, 'The Honest Guys', and it's really soothing and helpful for falling asleep and insomnia. Maybe try that before you sleep and if you wake up in the middle of the night...

Hi Sab, yes, lack of Sleep is awful isn't it? It's habit forming too. It might help if you went to bed later, say around 11. To try and alter your body clock into not waking early. Also, turn off your lap top an hour before. And definitely, don't look at it in the night. Because they say, the blue screen light makes Sleep difficult. When i cant Sleep i Listen to the on-line Sleep hypnosis. Jason Stephenson and Micheal Seally are my favorites and are free. It isn't like being literally hypnotized. More like a relaxation technique. Good luck with it. Dee. 😊🛏️💤

Thank you. Yes the screen issue I'm sure is not helping me.

I do the same thing....mine is from menopause and if I am going through stuff, which I am, I over think as soon as I wake up in the middle of the night. What I found that seems to be helping....go to bed later and let your meds keep you asleep longer then.

I’ve deal with the same issue offers. Like Stacy said, meditation videos help a lot because the voice stimulates my brain enough so that I’m not bored and trying to think of other things but is monotone enough for me to tune it out and drift off to sleep. I also use ASMR videos which involves whispering or soft speaking - if that doesn’t creep you out too much lol (it is weird, but they’ve helped me so much on sleepless nights and I watch them nightly now, but meditation videos work about just as well).

I also take melatonin sometimes to get to sleep. It’s a natural supplement you can buy at any grocery store and I like the kinds that melt on your tongue because they work a lot faster than the ones you swallow. And to be more controversial again, I’ve also found success for anxiety relief and great sleep aid with CBD oil. It’s legal in all states I’m pretty sure (if you’re in the states) and comes from the part of the marijuana (hemp) plant that doesn’t get you high, so it doesn’t show up on drug tests, and you can find it at any smoke shop (you can put the oil in a vape or put drops under your tongue and swallow it). It should be used in moderation of course if you want to try it, but when I’ve tried it I usually sleep really hard and wake up feeling like I slept for a week. Might be worth a try if other things aren’t helping. 🤷🏻‍♀️ sorry if I’m not supposed to recommend controversial things, but it really has helped me so I thought I’d mention it lol.

I actually have some CBD oil but to be super honest the taste was awful lol and I wasnt told that it can help at night. Something I may need to look into!!

Yeah the taste is definitely awful that’s why I usually just smoke it in a vape and look like a douchebag 🙈 lol. And yeah the ffirst nightI tried it I went a little overboard and did so much I started feeling paranoid and anxious, but when I woke up in the morning I slept so hard I felt like I had been punched in the face. But like, in a good way? Lol I haven’t experienced that since because I take it easier but it definitely helps me sleep hard throughout the night.

Mental notes taken! Lol ill have to go easy on myself for sure.

I got the same problem. But instead of worrying I just turn the tv on and watch whatever is on then go back to bed around 8:00 a.m. Hopefully I wake up by 12:00 p.m. eat lunch/breakfast and start my day. I find it makes the days go faster. Especially if you got nothing to do that day.
