My name is Amanda and I’ve survived panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and depression since 2004. Lately I’ve been having side effects from my medications that I’m on.

Hi Amanda, is this the medication you have been on for a long period of time?

After having been left on Xanax, it came to a point where all my former symptoms were breaking through harder than ever. I was going into withdrawal symptoms while being on the meds because they no longer worked. Not sure if that is what is happening to you. xx

Some of them I have been on for years. One I started on January 2. To be honest I’ve have these flashing, violent thoughts since I was on meds.

That doesn't sound right. Your meds may have to be re-accessed. We want you Safe...

Give your doctor a call on this. Not sure if it's the new med you started on in January that could be causing ill effects. Some SSRIs act a little differently in younger patients. However, it should never be about violent thoughts appearing. Let us know what your doctor says. xx

Oh I understand. Are these thoughts about self harm or hurting others?

Both but I’ve always had them under control. They still pop up and creep me out. I’ve never had any issues controlling them, just want them to stop happening

I'm sorry you are dealing with this but those thoughts can be controlled by your medication. Whether it's a dosage change needed or medication itself. Unfortunately the only person who can help you with that is your doctor. SSRIs can cause harmful thoughts to some patients. A change in medication could take care of that. My concern is that it could just take one time where you are unable to be in control and dire things can happen. I hope should those thoughts get severe enough and start taking over that you call the Paramedics or have someone take you to the nearest ER. Stay Safe.

Wishing you a Goodnight...Will be back in the morning. :) xx
