Hello everyone and welcome to the Fit is Fun Club!
Fit for Fun is an all inclusive club to cover all activity and all abilities and the aim is for each of us to highlight our preferred activities and give us all new ideas for exercise.
This thread will be open from Monday 24th to Sunday 30th January.
The idea is for you to post your exercise achievements from last week and your proposed goals for this coming week. This will not be a competition but declared plans are easier to stuck to and encouragement and support from fellow members are good motivators.
So this past week I just cycled a bit every day. I hope to do better next week!
I’ll be happy to read all about your achievements and your goals for next week!
I wish you all a great week!!🍀😊

Fab photos Henderslh, i love the one of the Heron. Well done on the active minutes. I should try the Active 10 app again and see if i'm walking fast enough for it to register my walking yet lol.
Well didn't manage the Wii session or 6 days of 10000+ steps (I was close for 2 days). I only managed 4 days of 10000+ steps though I have had a cold which started this weekend so my energy levels have been seriously reduced and spent most of Sunday dozing on the settee However overall my steps total is 74004 steps (45km) so daily average was 10000+ steps. I also managed 108mins of brisk walking. My goals this week is to manage 5 days of 10000 steps- I am on nights again this week and I must admit the cold is still impacting on my energy levels so I will try for 1 session of Wii towards end of the week when hopefully I will have recovered from the cold. I should go into town to look at cookers to replace my current one but there is a distinct lack of enthusiasm for it🤔
Hi Rg, its hard to be more motivated when feeling unwell so i think you've done brilliantly to achieve the 74,004 steps over the week. I hope you are starting to feel better now and reaching your targets for this week.
I hope you find the motivation to go cooker shopping too xx
Had a good week walking bbut not so much on the bike. One 20 mile bike ride but 56km walking,. Been out for a bike ride yesterday going to try for four mor before next monday
Wow Ascelus, i cant even imagine a bike ride that far, let alone do it!! Well done and i hope you manage to do a bit more this week - just so that you're happy not because i think you need to lol.
Evening everyone, i hope your week of exercise is going well.
Thank you for hosting us this week Madameirir and what a beautiful tranquil picture. I keep expecting to see Nessie's head pop up lol.
I had quite a good week exercise wise. My targets were 10,000 steps per day and 5 hours of non dog walking exercise. I achieved the steps, 73,194 in total across the week but only 3.5 hours of the other exercise which was in the form of jogging on the treadmill, pedalling on the mini bike, dancing in the kitchen whilst cooking, lunges and squats round the playground with the kids at school and a bit of pottering round the garden.
This week my goals are the same so we'll see if i can up that 3.5 hours 😊
I tried to take some pics when on my walks this week as we have snowdrops coming out into flower and lots of daffs poking through the ground. I also saw some long tailed tits which only seem to be around a short while before they disappear again. I'd love to know where they go. Anyway I've come to the conclusion that my phone camera is no good outside so wont give you all a laugh with my efforts 😂 If i can work out a way to use my proper but basic camera at the same time as walking with the dogs I'll see if they come out any better.
It was a lovely morning. Quite warm too which was sods law as i was wearing an extra jumper after feeling chilly yesterday lol.
The dogs love it there as the river wharfe runs between the sports fields and and the houses. They all love a swim so i have to make sure the river isn't swollen before we go - dont want them getting swept away!!! xx
Well done on all of the exercise. I love long tailed tits but they are so quick , here is my best attempt. I think is you have bird feeders you can attract them closer but we don’t as we have two cats 🐈⬛.
Oh that's gorgeous Hendershl. I love them, they are my favourite of the tits. They don't come to my feeders (well not when I'm here to see anyway lol) but they are often in the hedgerows on the lane up from my house. I see them for about 2 weeks then they vanish til the next year!!!
Good luck with the photo challenge- I must admit I am the same as you with a phone camera which is why I don't post many pictures here since the standard is not very good I find Iwilldothisthisyear photos with her phone very impressive
Some of mine can come out ok - tend to be playing dogs lol but if I want a pic of something specific it's either blurred or the colours are awful lol. xx
Thanks Fabfor50. We were following some newly painted circles on playground. We looked like we were doing a John Cleese funny walk lol. I like lunges and squats as you can do them anywhere and incorporate them into whatever you're doing. We were doing squats playing skittles the other week 😀
Hello. I’m building my fitness back up & want to keep going so I am the fittest I have ever been by the time I turn 50 in September. Intending to do something every day so in practice that becomes 5-6 x a week. Today I went for a brisk hilly walk. Tomorrow I shall rebound for 32 minutes. I’m concentrating mostly on cardio initially & will build in strength exercises from March.
