Hello everyone and welcome to the Fit is Fun Club!
Fit for Fun is an all inclusive club to cover all activity and all abilities and the aim is for each of us to highlight our preferred activities and give us all new ideas for exercise.
This thread will be open from Monday 20th to Sunday 26th September.
The idea is for you to post your exercise achievements from last week and your proposed goals for this coming week. This will not be a competition but declared plans are easier to stuck to and encouragement and support from fellow members are good motivators.
If you are used to post photos please feel free to post as many as you wish.
So this week I went to run for 30 minutes, I cycled and today I went to the swimming pool with my children. This Wednesday, I’ll have to weigh-in. I’m a little bit afraid as I’m sure I gained some weight during my holidays in France. 🤣
I’ll be happy to read all about your achievements and your goals for next week!
I wish you all a great week!!😊🍀

Last week I managed a run on Sunday 10 k,I did lots of walking whilst away for a few days .
On Saturday I did a walk for charity ,I did 8:3 miles it was supposed to be 10 k but I just kept going .It was a dawn walk so I was out just after 6:15 am .
Loved every minute of it .
Saturdays total steps were just over 22,000 for the whole day.
This week I need to get out walking and running more as my weight is not shifting much .
Good morning Hidden & thanks for hosting. This week according to the Active 10 app I have briskly was walked 152 minutes out of a total 268 minutes walked.
Well done on the amount of minutes walked this week. I never realised I was a fast walker until I downloaded the Active 10 app. I'm short with even shorter legs (long body short legs) so I'm used to speed walking to keep pace with my taller friends
I managed my 30 minute walk every lunch time and added in a couple of longer walks on the weekend. Of my 304 minutes walking - 296 were brisk according to my Active10 app.
I didn't manage to finish early enough for a Belly Dance lesson but I did have a dance around the living room again with my granddaughter (to Steps this time).
I signed up to the starter challenge on my fitbit. As I'd spend 3 weeks in my house recovering from Covid after I got my new fibit it calculated my increased steps to be 2600 per day for this challenge. It's good to have double that at least every day and on Sunday it was nearly 4 times as much.
So this week I'm hoping to walk every day for 30 minutes at least , more yoga and I'm going to do some of the videos springersrule found and posted last week. I think it's the Beegees tonight. We have our granddaughters an extra day so maybe I'll have two days of dancing around the living room and I'm off to a gig on Friday night for more dancing this time to Scritti Polliti.
That’s really nice to hear . My mother got it and had to be in bed for 3 weeks but she got better on her own. Luckily, she didn’t have to go to the Hospital...
Glad you mum recovered well. I had what I thought was a heavy head cold for a week so hadn’t been anywhere and had a positive test in the second week which meant I had to isolate for another 10 days. It was 3 weeks before I stepped out of the door.
Well I had a very good week last week- my sister was visiting last week with her husband and their dog Archie so I did a lot of walking and they helped me re-organise my garden so did a lot of gardening, I managed 1003mins brisk walking and 465mins gardening (digging up unwanted planted and weeds and planting new plants) so a total of 1468 brisk mins of exercise. Due to walking Archie most days twice a day I clocked up 172423 steps (107.9km) so a very good week last week, though I will be back to normal this week since they have returned home Despite all the extra exercise it hasn't helped with loosing weight since I have been not calorie counting and I have been having treats and 2 course meals which i don't usually have since I had guests. Though I never felt stuffed after a meal which is good. This week I am not back at work until Friday and I have still some gardening to do- planting bulbs my sister and husband helped me buy and moving some plants I didn't get around to doing.
Only 1 planned Wii exercise this week since its gardening today and then I have morning appointments tomorrow and Thursday so won't be able to fit them in before I have to leave. I plan to do 6 days of 10000+ steps since though I am a work on Friday I on an admin day so I won't be on my feet as much though I may walk into work even though I am on a long day will decide closer to the time or even on the day
That’s wonderful! So much exercise with walking with Archie and gardening! Well done! I bet your garden looks beautiful! Nice plan too, 10000+ steps/day is great! I wish you a nice week!🍀😊
Wow wee - I feel tired after reading about your week - well done 🤩. Ndog walks about a mile in 35 minutes so not much dog mileage here but we do enjoy a good sniff 🐕🦺
Still had a bit more gardening to do which I have just done and now I plan to relax. Just the ironing and washing a very dirty kitchen floor due to the gardening and Archie. Though I think I’ll deal with the floor tomorrow!
I can confirm that I ticked off my 18 hilly miles up and down and around a vineyard on the Surrey Hills. My hips haven’t forgiven me yet so it is more a shuffle with the dog this week and some gentle stretches.
Not sure I am ready for Beachy Head Marathon next month but I will give it my all.
In the meantime I have this fab weapon, I mean medal to admire, and soft feet after a bit of pampering - btw Ndog 🐾 did not walk with me on Sunday but thinks she earned her snooze 💤
Wow! That’s a lot of exercise! Wow! You are planning to do a full marathon!! That’s really hard , I only ever managed to do several half marathons, but that was many years ago!😊 Good plan too, you should let your body recover!
Hello all and Madameirir, and thank you for hosting! I have been away from the forum for too long and am hoping to get back into it more again, especially as it helps me get more motivated to exercise.
So last week I have been walking 43,6 km which isn't all that much really. So for this week I am planning on walking about 10000+ steps on four days, and doing some muscle building exercises on three days. I have a new app to try out so hopefully I'll have some new ideas by next week.
Awh thank you 😌. I had planned on doing some exercise today but I have an ill child at home and been in the go all day. Hopefully tomorrow will be better in terms of exercising 🤞
I had it first, then gave it to two children and they passed it on to my husband who still has it 😬. But all tested neg to covid 👍 Only my 15 year old managed to skip the whole thing. He's definitely got the best immune system of us all 😁
Whats the new app you are trying out? Mind you I agree with Hidden 43.6km is a good total- that is my usual- but having a dog and visitors who like walking certainly boosted my KMs last week
Thanks ☺ A dog is a great personal trainer 😉It's called getfitfitness. I found it on a German website but I think it's a European wide app. You can pick from a work out plan that fits with your lifestyle and it's also got a good meal plan. I'm rubbish organising myself when I calorie count so this suits me much better than have to sort everything out myself. I'll let you know how I get along with it next week 😉
I agree about the dog! I'll be interested in seeing how you find the app- I have a quick look on my iPhone store and though there are a lot of fitness apps which sound similar to your new app it doesn't recognise the name
Good morning all and thanks for hosting us this week Madameirir.
My week hasn't quite worked out as expected but i'm still really pleased with what i have achieved. Wed to fri last week were absolutely hectic, fri eve til sunday eve i was away in the caravan, monday my head was still in holiday mode lol, yesterday was an ordinary day 😊
Rehab physio done everyday but i didn't fit in any workouts and only did the c25k wk5 run1 yesterday. I was so chuffed to complete it without wilting or needing to stop particularly because i did it on an uphill circuit at my local racecourse (after our dog walk). My steps more than made up for the lack of other forms of exercise though 😊 Daily steps ranged from 10,227 to 16,661 with the daily average being 14,136. Total steps for the week: 98,952 - wow 😁.
For this week, my targets are: 1x physio rehab daily, am daily dog walk (minimum 90 mins), finish wk5 of c25k. Hopefuls are 3x workouts, wk6 run1. Daily steps target 9,500 so a weekly total of 66,500.
I hope everyone is having a great week so far 💖💖 xx
Morning, just had to come and say i did wk5, run2 yesterday. 2x 8 minutes jogging and i did it 😁😁😁😁 Really chuffed and a little apprehensive of the next one - 1x 20 minute jog!! 😱 wish me luck with that over the weekend 💖 xx
The 20 minutes is the last run of wk5. Yes it sounds such a huge jump but its only a little over the total time jogging in the other wk5 runs. There's just no break in the middle lol I daren't have a sneak peak at week 6 yet but if today goes ok then hopefully i'll start wk6 on tuesday xx
Thanks for hosting, Madameirir, and to all for sharing what you're up to and what you're planning. Have a good week everyone xx2000 is waiting to here from you on the new post.
