Hello. I have 5 stone to lose and desperately need help and support. I am a comfort eater and struggling with depression. Lockdown has seen my weight rise more and I need to now get a grip on my life and work for a healthier future. As I am new here I would love to hear how everyone else is coping and for any tips to achieve my goals.

Hi Catlover, welcome to the weight loss forum.. May I suggest that you follow all the links you've been sent in your welcome package It's best to use the website as opposed to the app.

This lockdown has caused many a weight gaining problem.I understand that you need to lose 5 stone but I suggest that you break it up in to mini goals. Trying to achieve 2lbs a month is much kinder to yourself.

I hope you join the Daily Diary, there's lots of delicious ideas there. When you have decided your “weigh in day”, join one of the weekly weigh ins.

If you are counting calories please run your data through the NHS site, to calculate your BMI and with that obtain your calorie allowance.

Good luck with your weight loss journey.🍀

Hello, I’m also new on here and have 5 stone to lose. Although I’ve worked throughout the Covid pandemic my weight has increased and my mood has declined. I think a lot of people feel in a similar way but if i can take back some control over my eating I know I will emotionally and psychologically better.

Thank you for your support moreless. I’ve had a good first day food wise but I know I need to drink more water and start moving more.

That’s my downfall not drinking enough water. I tend to drink coffee which isn’t good. Must make a conscious effort to drink water.

Hello, 5 stone is definitely doable and is a much better situation than having about 10 stone to lose (which was me a year ago) 😊 however, big numbers are daunting and small losses may feel like nothing when we look at the amount we want to eventually shift. It’s about small daily things: better choices, healthier options, better energy, looking after yourself. Let’s notice little positive things every day, so that we can keep our motivation going. It’s about praising yourself for a better choice and celebrating little victories. All the best! 🤗

Thank you. I know it will take time and I am aiming for half a stone at a time. I know it will not be easy but I will keep trying

Welcome Catlover56 . You will find a great deal of support here. Everyone has been where you are, some with more some with less weight to lose but all with the same aim.

Have you joined a weigh in yet? If not the Wednesday wobble Warriors is a great group. 😀
