I am 58 years old and need to lose a stone to get my BMI into the healthy range. Doesn't seem like a lot to lose but having been on and off every diet under the sun for the last few years I want to find a healthy way of eating that doesn't mean I am starving or missing out on whole food groups or wasting hundreds of £s to lose a few lbs! Hoping I have found it with weightloss NHS. Watch this space.

Hi and welcome to the forum, lots of supportive people here with various goals, I hope you find the motivation you need here. The NHS plan is a great place to start, it doesn't promise rapid weight loss but sustainable healthy lifestyle changes and it adapts nicely into most lifestyles. I also use a calorie counting app, my fitness pal which I find really useful in keeping track of what I'm eating. There are also various exercise programmes (free) on the NHS site such as couch to 5k and strength and flex which you may find useful?

I wish you the best of luck with reaching your goals and look forward to hearing how you get on 🌸

Thank you Anna 999. I want to make permanent changes to my life style which will, I hope, allow me to live a longer healthier life. I think this plan will help me do that.

I agree, I have also been a serial dieter and spent a small fortune on various fad diets that must have been so bad for me and in the end only worked for a short time so I agree that a plan such as this is definitely the way forward! Best wishes🌸

Thank you I appreciate your support.

Welcome, I hope you find what you need in this community. You'll find many motivational posts here! Start by dowloading an app on your phone to keep track of calories (Fat Secret, My Fitness Pal...), it's a great aid! Good luck!

Thank you I have my fitness pal and a good old paper copy of a calorie guide with my kitchen scales! Think it helps that the sun is shining!
