Hi and welcome, Jenst :)

That's fairly classic after following that sort of diet, so you may want to look at a different and possibly more sustainable method of weight loss. Have a look at these healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... phcuk.org/wp-content/upload... and fatismyfriend.co.uk/

All of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

Hi Jenny,

You are not alone - I have the same problem in my house.

My partner is lucky - he can eat whatever he wants and in whatever amount and he just does not put on weight at all.

He rang yesterday saying that he is ordering pizza and which one do I want - well I said that I am on a diet now and sick of being overweight - he then said that I should just accept myself as I am.

Easy to say...

Hang on there hun - we are in this together x

We will get there Jenny x

And because we are both just starting now - we will also celebrate each week our small successes x

Hi jenst welcome, I’ve not been on here for very long and it took me a long time to get the cordage to even say something. I’d been looking at the site for a few weeks before I had to do it. I have at least 10 stone to lose. You will get loads of support on here and you get loads of ideas of what type of new eating plan you want to go on.🌸

Hi. You’ve come to the right place to get positive support. Focus on what you want to do, keep on the right track and feel pleased with any little bit of progress you make. Good luck.

Don't blame yourself. SW is not a long term weightloss plan. 4 of my neighbours - all different, one Malaysian, one Greek, and two coincidentally from Wigan all went of SW, lost amazing amount of weight, and then put it on again. Since joining HU I have seen others with the same story. It's not your fault, it's what happens with SW. Indeed, some people here believe it's their business model, to keep you coming back. I believe it's just following the current low fat diet has that effect.

Read the links moreless has provided. Dropping the carbs seems to be the way to go. Worked for me, anyway, though I haven't put it through a long term test yet.

That may be the way as I have a lot of carbs. So it could work. It’s my first day today n feeling positive. Just got to keep it up and keep going. Many thanks.

Hi Jenny, snap.

I am another one who has lost and regained a few times.

Last year I lost 20 kilos and this year it found me again.

I really struggle with carbs, or should I say cutting the carbs.

I am going to give the Low Carb High Fat a go because one of my problems is that I never feel as if I have eaten enough, always hungry. Unfortunately I really prefer a sandwich to any other food and could happily eat sandwiches for every meal. I can't eat eggs which is a shame as they seem to be a go to food on the LCHF diet.

I am so very annoyed with myself for putting this weight back so trying again feels like hard work but it is all my own fault so got to do it.

Good luck with your journey, hopefully we will both win the battle.

Ellie

I eat low carb & don’t eat eggs. Cheese was my saviour to start with while I adjusted.

in reply toellj

Can I also recommend greek yoghurt, higher fat the better.

Thank you for your tips. I can't wait to get my groceries next week as I have been craving cheese for ages.

I am just sorting out my online order for Tuesday delivery so if you have any more ideas I would be grateful.

I think I will get pork chops and chicken as red meat is not for me.

I wrap chicken in bacon or Parma ham to make it more filling. Also I do a yummy chicken pieces in pesto mixed with double cream - there was a recipe but now I make it up. Pieces of raw chicken, slices of pepper, sliced spring onion pre-sautés, black pitted olives in a casserole dish, mix pesto & double cream (3tsp of pesto per 2 chicken breasts) maybe100ml cream. Pour over chicken. Cover with foil/lid if dish has one. Bake in oven (45 mins on 200 or an hour at lower).

I haven't has double cream in the house for years, that's on the shopping list now. Thank you for the suggestion :)
