Hi all I’m Tom and I’m currently on a diet. I started my diet 2 weeks ago which I weighed in at 14st 12, my current weight now is 14st 7,I’m 6ft. And 28 years old. As I was growing up I was always chubby and slightly fatter than most. When I was 22/23 I dropped down to 11st 7, which felt very good maybe a little small. So I’m on a mission again to try to lose weight target goal is 12.7-13stone. Just posting here to motivate. I’ve cut out all the crap and bad snacking. No fizzy drinks, chocolate etc. I have an active job in which most days I cover 23k steps which defo helps. Thanks for readying and I’d be happy to answer any questions.

Hello and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum Tomuk91 😊

Well done on cutting out the snacks and nibbles, that’s an excellent start 👏 Next I would start to plan your meals, but please don’t be tempted to eat too little. Please run the NHS BMI checker to get your target calorie range

If you haven’t already then please read the Pinned Posts here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... Please read it carefully so you can find all the information you need to find your way around.

This is a peer to peer support group, and nothing beats joining in, reading posts and replying to others. Our group Weigh-in and the Daily Diary are probably the best places to start.

Best wishes in your weight loss journey

Indigo 😊

Hi Tomuk and welcome :)

Congrats on your weight loss so far and I think you're right to aim for your new weight target.

No questions for you (yet :) ) just adding that people find that the more effort they invest on this forum... joining in with challenges, events, replying to peoples' posts then the further they progress on their journey.

Good luck! :)

Thanks for the replies :) Tbf I’ve been eating similar meals for ‘dinner’ cut out my packet of Chrisps at work and now have boiled eggs as a sub.. I’ve not added any additional excercise as I said I’m very active as work, I’m excited to be on this diet to trim down for the summer and feel more

Comfortable in myself.

Hi, Tomuk91 , welcome.

If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.

Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
