Hello, byebyebaby , and welcome to the forum 😊

Many of us have started with the 12 week plan and found it very helpful. It gives you an understanding of the calorie value of your foods and a proper sense of portion size.

This welcome pack explains how the forum works and how to find your way around healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... Please take your time reading it so you get the best out of your time here.

You'll find a list of all our activities on the daily chat thread here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

I recommend joining a weekly weigh in on the day of your choice.

Hi byebyebaby, I am on week 3 of the NHS healthy choices diet, that combined with the Forum support has been great in helping me get a diet that suits me. Good luck with it.

I share my food plans on the Daily Diary, which will open soon for tomorrow. Other members have been really supportive in helping shape my plans. Tips for health issues, holiday eating, carbs, snacks, exercise, I am starting to see my diet & lifestyle in a different way. Thank goodness! Also I post my weight once a week in a group and that is fab. Let me know how you get on.

Hi and welcome to this forum. I started Nov 17 wanting to lose weight having in the past been a member of WW and Slimming World but not able to maintain the weight loss. My husband suggested trying from home and we googled the NHS 12 week plan which , big bonus is absolutely free. I followed it for a while then worked on calories, portion size and weighing everything that went in my mouth,...still do that to this day but it is is a new healthy lifestyle. I have been successful having lost 4st 7 lbs with still a way to go. I joined a weekly weigh in on here and have found lots of support and encouragement from like minded people who understand what I am going through. I have been determined this time to make it work for me and so far it had. It is exciting but costly buying new clothes having now gone from a Size 22 to a size 14. If you prefer a face to face support group then a slimming club will be best for you but will cost you money. I hated having to explain why I had put weight on to lots of others . I must add that on this new healthy living lifestyle I have not put on weight yet though I have stayed the same weight sometimes. My weight losses have been fairly small at times but I am happy about that as it has taken me over 40 years to put the weight on and I want it to stay off this time,

All I can say is give the NHS 12 week plan a go, tweak it if necessary for you and see how you get on. Good luck with whatever you decide to do it has got to be the right way for you or you will not do it for long.all the best Sue 😀😀😀
