Beginner/novice - 12 week plan

Just got the 12 week plan, intend to start on Monday and I am quite nervous. Should I just start today and continue with the program for week 2 seeing as I have been watching my calories since Monday?

How was everyone's first week like?

I think that you've already started without realising it . Have youweighed yourself and taken a waist measurement, if you don't do it now youll regret not knowing your true starting position. You could always carry on for the remainder of the week and then start the official plan on Monday.

You have nothing at all to worry about. I felt incredibly positive about week one. It felt like Id finally taken control of things. The 12 week plan really helped to change my ideas about healthy eating. I'm now on week 6 and still feeling positive even though i hit a plateau last week and didn't lose anything.

You will do marvellously. Good luck

thank you Linggirl. i had my weight checked on Saturday last week so you are right when you say I actually started without realising it. i hope to still be here 6 weeks on.

my first week was really hard as far as exercise goes. It was the first time in a long time I had worked out, but I got through it and seeing 7 lbs loss on the scale just gave me that motivation to continue. The eating was spot on. I was feeling great. My exercise pains kicked in but I knew that was because I hadn't worked my muscle groups in a long time. I pushed through and here I am today still on the journey 21 weeks in.

Don't be nervous - be incredibly proud of yourself - you have already started and taken control of your eating. This is not a diet it is a change of lifestyle and you will grow to love the changes you are making in terms of how much better you feel with more energy etc, plus the bonus of losing weight. I started a year ago feeling like you and lost 31lbs - my target is 42 so slow and steady. I am so happy with my new life - it is the best thing I have ever done for myself - and you need to keep that in mind whenever you feel a wobble coming on. Good luck and enjoy!

I am in my first week,I am a returner from last year as I did not stay on here,wish I had as it is very supportive,I log in daily and am happy to say I am doing well by just talking to others and taking the advice,healthy eating rather that dieting as I always find when I diet as such I am always seeking that extra sweet or cake or crisps and too much food on my plate,welcome and the support is wonderful here
