I am new here and it's my third diet over the last 15 years. I'm 54 and with a small child. Need to lose 3 stone - for my family and myself. Is anyone else starting just now, so we can keep each other going? Good luck to all of you.

Hi Pamed
Thanks for your reply. It would be nice to keep each other going.
Congrats on losing 4 lb in week one. That's an achievement - well done for not 'cheating'. I guess not every week is the same. And people say the body goes into reserve mode and stores calories. Anyway, fingers crossed for your week two!
It's the first time I am counting calories. Le'ts see how this works. The official start of the 12 week programme is on Monday but I thought why not start at the weekend, might be easier.
Le'ts keep up the good work
Thanks daddykuss
I am being good this week but might have had to much fruit so more veg next week still not cheating tho hope the scales are kind to me this week if not I'm not going to talk to them lol
Glad to know you have started this week fingers crossed for you it is hard sometimes trying to work out how many calories are in everything especially when I make marinades but I do try
Good luck for your first week
Keep me updated
Have a good weekend
Pam xx
Hi Pam
Glad to hear you are being good again and hope the scales were nice to you on Sunday
I have lost 3 lb since Friday but need to rearrange my diet - calories look ok but there is still too much fat and too little fibre/protein on the myfitnesspal app. Do you use the same calorie counter?
Off to the gym now - I haven't been for a few weeks, so it will be hard. I only do body resistance (no weights or machines), which helps my back and I like it.
Hope week 2 goes well for you, Pam
Best

Hi daddykuss
So glad you lost 3 lb well done
I have only lost 1 lb this week (2nd week) but I did not cheat at all maybe I had a bit to much fruit although I do watch it ,but never mind I'm still loosing yey ,let's hope I do better next week
I do use the calorie counter and always round it up .so why a poor loss I don't know.
Glad to know you are off to the gym best not to do to much as you haven't been for a while
,I can't exercise as such but I do about 8000 steps a day with just doing chores and going to work not ideal I know but better than nothing .
Very impressed that you lost 3 lb since Friday soooo jealous .
Hope you have another good week

Hi Pam
8,000 steps a day - I take my hat off. And being on your feet all day long is certainly good exercise. And the important thing is that you do lose weight. So it's going in the right direction for you. I might lose a lot in the first week but then my body gets used to it and stores reserves. Let's see.
The gym works for me, but everyone is different. And some people hate the gym. For me it helps to get away from my desk and do something different at midday. Today it was yoga - really hard, I am not very flexible.
Keep up the good work, Pam and I hope the scales will make you happy on Sunday
Hi daddykiss
Going to the gym at mid day I am impressed and yoga my goodness you are a gluten for punishment lol
Well I don't know how many steps I will be doing tomorrow as I'm off to Bournemouth taking the granchildren to the beach for the day (heaven help me) .
My band that tracked my steps broke so I won't know how many steps I am doing now not sure if I will replace it as everyone seems to say they don't work properly which is a shame .
Still never mind I will keep counting the calories.
I never seem to u derstand about the body going into starvation mode what about the poor people who have anorexia they still loose weight without eating my mind is very confused about that ,
Still never mind I'll get it one day lol
Hope you have a good day tomorrow and the scales are kind to you on Monday

Hi and welcome daddykuss
Well done for only doing two diets, but this is a healthy change of lifestyle

Hi daddykuss
I started last Monday so just coming up to the end of week one. I'm 50 and have about 3 and a half stone to lose. I have cheated a little this week, too many goodies left over from daughter's brithday on Sunday, but still think I'll lose. Hope we'll be able to keep each other going over the coming weeks.
Thanks daddykuss
Weighed in for Week 2 and have lost 2lb in my first week. Not a huge amount, but can't complain as had a few treats and lost 6lb I the month before joining. I'd be happy to achieve 2lb a week.
That's impressive, PashaW. So you are 8 lb down. 2 lb a week is a very good aim. I have lost quite a bit since last week but that's normal for the beginning. It will probably slow down. And I had a G&T today and a very nice dinner. Will wait a bit before I weigh myself again. Losing 6 lb every month would be great.
If you check my recent comment on daily diary, I'm kind of getting myself prepped for the weekend/next week so have decided to follow your post. Hopefully we can encourage each other on this journey
