So i have come to the end of 12 week plan and lost 21 lbs, but been at same weight for a long time not really losing. Any advice for how people kept motivation and loss going after this. Really been struggling with exercise !

thanks

Congrats on getting to the finish line! 21 lbs is a lot of weight! I am in my week 12 this week, and I'm planning to do the 5-week strength and flex programme while continuing the nhs programme.

Your body can get used to the amount of calories you eat. Try going up and/or down with your calories, and perhaps try some different foods. Make sure you are not eating any foods with added sugar, like low fat yoghurts.

Perhaps just go out for a walk, now that Spring is underway. It can lift the spirits to see new life returning.

I essentially kept following the plan i have an exercise journal and my food app still and i used visual motivation to keep me going. For example i bought a dress in a lot smaller size and hung it on my wall to remind me to keep going til i fit into it. I also recheck my goals every few weeks to see how things are going. Weekly weigh ins help keep me focused to. Find what works for you hun, maybe set yourself a goal to do exercise 3 times a week till payday then treat yourself to a new top or dvd or something you can enjoy. I think we forget to reward ourselves a lot but we deserve it after all the hard work we do.

Congratulation in graduating and keeping it that way. You have now learn good eating habits. My opinion if you are struggling with exercise is to fit your calories intake to the amount of exercise you can do. But then, you can exercise without really realising it, like walking instead of taking the bus/train. Also housekeeping, riding a bike. Use music to help you. Just try all and see what works for you. i think the idea is just to move around. Find the right time in the day. I am a morning person And can do anything in the morning as in 5, 6, 7 or 8am. In summer as early as 4.30. But I slow down and relax during the day. I feel I deserve it and don't feel guilty.

Lots of good ideas here.usehomeremedies.com/wiki/wa...

If you have a problem with exercise, when you go to bed , imagine yourself going to the gym , really live it, as for real. This will set your mind up to think you have done this and as the neural pathways strengthen it will seem more natural to go to the gym .

Stick with this, do this "mind exercise" each night. It may not kick in at first but after several days you will be more inclined to exercise.

Hi, don't lose hope. It even took me sometime to lose weight until I found a reliable program that really keeps me going. I need to wait for a year to even found that I'm satisfied with the program. But the good thing is I didn't give nor lose my determination.

Thanks all, think i will keep going by trying to "re start" 12 week programme and increase exercise!
