I am about to finish my last week of nhs 12 week plan. I have found it very good & easy to follow. My starting weight was 67kg I now weigh 61.5kg, my starting waist size was 35&half" now it's 31&half" whilst I am very pleased I have not hit my goal of 60kg ' I have been stuck for the last 2 weeks, I have increased my exercise besides Jog/walk, with weights at the gym just not sure what to do next (young 68 year old ha ha )

Very well done for completing the 12 Week plan 👏. You will have created some good eating habits that will sustain you on this lifelong journey 😊

You don’t say how tall you are or what you weight has been throughout the last 68 years but I wouldn’t beat myself up. If you are eating well, feeling fit and healthy then that’s a success is my book. Also 2 weeks is quite a short time, I can go weeks without the scales moving.

If you really want to see the scales moving you can either double check your target calories and daily intake, or maybe look at what you are eating, carbohydrates in particular may need reducing as we move less as we get older therefore need less for energy.

Best wishes and very well done 😊👏🎉

Thank you I am 5ft & a bit I was about 9st 4lb to 9st 7lb but when I retired i piled it on i was 12 stone at one point, I managed to lose 2 stone then put half stone back on & haven't been able to shift it even though I went to the gym so, when this 12 week nhs plan came up I thought give it a try I don't really want to cut calories my daily allowance is 1400cal which is fine for me ( don't laugh but I have an abs sit up thing, weights & a mini trampoline ) i should lose weight if I don't break something in the process.

No, don’t go below 1400 and as you’re active and increasing exercise may be try using a tape measure? How do your clothes feel? You may well be losing fat but not weight of that makes sense? Well done for all the strength exercise, really good for maturing joints!

Also be aware that the closer to goal the slower it goes, some suggest we can only lose 1% of excess fat per week, for you around 25g or 1oz old money! Seriously, a pound a month would be good 😊

Have a lovely weekend

Indigo 😊

Well done! I read your post with interest. I am just starting on the NHS weight loss programme. Your post encouraged me! I piled on weight after returning from Ethiopia where I worked for 25 years! So now I am at week One...

Well done kbed What a great result. I wouldn't panic, but just carry on doing exactly what you are doing as it is obviously working for you. I would think that as long as you continue, you are going to reach your goal very shortly. In the meantime, just enjoy being a spring chicken once again. :)

I suppose the only thing I'd suggest is looking at what you're eating, as you aren't eating too much. Is there any scope for reducing carbohydrates, and then increasing healthy fats? It might be worth using the Daily Diary here for a couple of weeks to get some ideas and suggestions but really, you've done brilliantly :)

Well done Kbed you, great result! You must feel better in yourself. 👍
