Hi and welcome, I haven't got near the age of the menopause so unfortunately don't have any suggestions on that front

Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan and the NHS BMI calculator which will give you your personal calorie range

An admin will be along in the next hours to give you an official welcome and a link to the newbie pack - there is loads of information in there and really worth reading

Wishing you all the best on your journey and hope someone pops along with other suggestions for you

Good morning and welcome to this friendly and supportive forum,

I am sorry that you are struggling with the menopause, but all is not lost :)

Our bodies deal with food in a different way when going through the menopause and one of the things you can do to help is to cut back on the high GI foods that you eat, so be careful of sugar, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes - all things high in carbohydrates.

To make navigating the forum easier, we've put all the information you'll need in a newbie pack and here's the link

Please take the time to read it carefully, so that you're able to enjoy everything that we have on offer.

Hi AskaAbbasi

I just wanted to say hello and say I’m menopausal too. I’d half heartedly cut back to find my weight is like cement and I found it hard to lose. I’m still a newbie here but am finding it brilliant. I changed my approach to dieting and am focusing on nutrition. I got out my dusty (used only once) F2 book and I’ve been following that successfully. I use my low calorie hairy bikers book for meal ideas. I also gave up alcohol. I’ve lost weight! I feel good and optimistic for the first time in a long while. I’m sleeping so much better. I wish you luck and hope you find your own way to a new healthier you. I’m in for the long haul with 4 stone to lose. Early days!

Hi AsmaAbbasi, just to say hello and welcome. Since going through the menopause I have also struggled to maintain my weight, fitness and body image but have decided the time has come to make positive changes. I have only been a newbie on here for a few days myself but I am already feeling much more encouraged so good luck!

Hi I'm also going through the menapause and found weight was piling on despite a very active and healthy lifestyle. I'd love to keep in touch with the other women here who are going through the menapause. I've just started with this programme as I'm hoping for some support and motivation!
