Hello everyone this is my first post after reading all the lovely stories you have on your weight loss journeys. I have lost a stone since May 2017 after being told I had high cholestrol 7.8!!! Couldn't believe this as I thought I had a healthy low fat diet, anyway, not the case it seems. Really don't want to go on statins so it has motivated me to lose some blubber. Really need to lose another stone - would like to reach 10 stone [I'm a little titch only 5' tall] - but nothing seems to be working [been the same weight for the past month]. I keep a food diary and exercise everyday to DVDs and love gardening and walking. Any ideas to shake up my routine?

I don't know how many calories daily you are having but when I first joined it turned out I wasn't eating enough as it was telling me to eat somewhere between 1500 and 1800 but can't remember amounts because i have memory problems as well caused by my epilepsy. I was only eating around 1000 Cals a day. As soon as I started eating amounts it said I started losing weight. Do check your bmi on the NHS weight calculator and you will find out how many calories you should be having to be able to lose weight. Make sure you eat at least this amount and it should help you. I would suggest eating nearer the higher amount as the amounts do drop as you lose weight and you will end up struggling and also if you have problems you can drop amounts gradually until it starts working again for you. I ate the lower amount as I already was eating low but I got used to eating more and am now struggling loads to lose weight. Good luck with your journey.

Thank you for your reply. I think that it is the problem I am not eating enough. It seems strange to have to eat more to lose weight! Trying this week to have meals at regular times throughout the day, I think my eating habits started when I was working, I could go all day [I was so busy] with no food then stuff myself all night when I got home. Anyway I will let you know what the scales say at the end of the week, hopefully it will be good news.

Well done, let's hope this helps. I couldn't believe it either and it does seem very strange but it did work. I am having a few problems now and I have another stone and a half to lose but I have come this far and am determined to finish. My husband is so proud of me for sticking to this over a year now. I used to not eat breakfast but now I have cereal as well, I have blocked out any extra sugars as well though with tea and cereal. Good luck.
