Anyone starting today that's looking for a buddy. I really need motivation to stick to programmes - I get bored so easily with diets.

Nhs 12 week plan buddy request
Hi,
I am up for this. I am going away for 10 days soon but am looking to stick to my diet and not gain.

What diet are you doing, Tinks?
Sounds like you've done very well so far.... How near your goal are you?
I am just using fitness pal calorie counter and exercising as I can.
I have at least 19lb to go.
How about you?
I'm just deciding how to get started. I'd like to lose at least 3 stone. I get so demotivated after a while and I've tried quite a few things.
I do really want to enjoy life to the full and know that becoming a healthier weight will mean I participate more in fun things.
I think you are are doing brilliantly
I started yesterday but also up for some mutual encouragement. This is the first time I've seriously tried to lose weight and be healthy for more than 30 years and I'm not used to self-discipline! Keep in touch!
Hello Caro
You sound like you'd really like to shift that stone of weight you've allowed to build up.
Tell me, what are you good at? I'd like to hear about your successes and strengths.
Yes, I am starting today too and looking for support. I am so familiar with yoyo dieting but this is the first time I've joined an online forum so this is the new bit for me. What a lot of info to read and get head round but it feels exciting, I'm going to give it a go ☺
Are you going to give the 12 week plan a go?
I must confess I haven't looked at it yet.
Yes, I think the idea of writing things down and this forum will be helpful but I hate calorie counting. I realise it's the only way, there's no way round it, eating more calories than I expend leads to weight gain so I need a better idea of what those calories look like!
I also loathe counting calories, syns, points or anything like that.
It does work insofar as it makes you lose weight if you stick to it.... but you also lose spontaneity and the freedom of having what you want when you want it.
Food is a huge source of pleasure and satisfaction.
Everyone's reasons for being overweight are unique - but I don't think nutritional ignorance is my main culprit if I'm honest.
I'm doing the 12 week plan. So far I'm getting into counting calories, and boring my nearest and dearest with it, and enjoy writing it all down. I never normally weigh and measure ingredients, preferring to cook by experience so the novelty is a boost. Not sure how well I'll get on once I'm back at work and have less time, though. But I guess if I establish good habits now, that will help later.
Good luck to you all!
Hi dreamcatcher67, I am needing a restart and a buddy is a great idea. I have over 5 stone to lose. I am on holiday just niw, back for weigh in 20th August. Being active on holiday, but food is too gorgeous. Good luck, happy to support you, even if I am doing crap.
