I am hyperthyroid confirmed by blood test surgery and private, my t3 and t4 are high, my tsh is very low, my adrenal test showing high cortisol all day and highish DHEA. However my g.p is away till after christmas arghhhh and I feel rough and I keep sweating and feeling so hot.
I have just phoned surgery and my PTH needs to be done again, this is ridiculous, I have had three blood test, not sure about another test to check calcium and PTH as they show up low.
I realise I can see another g.p at the surgery but they do not not me, surely I should not be suffering over christmas, I feel like my heart is going to stop or explode, feel on the edge all the time.
I also still have low iron/ ferratin/ b12 and g,p has not noticed Im in need.
maybe I should take my results to local hospitol? or am I being overly concerned?
I can not tolerate eltoxin so i stop them.
any suggestions, really dont need this at christmas but on the other hand i need to see a consultant asap.
kindest
concerned Patient.

I would at least give another GP at the same surgery a go before going to the hospital as people there dont know you either. At least at the GP's another doc will have all your results to hand.
Make an urgent appt and tell them you wont leave until you get help. Ask them if they can give you some emergency meds to tide you over until your normal GP gets back from his/her hols, and tell them you are sick of continuious blood tests and no treatment. You never know you might get better results by dealing with another GP.
Moggie thanks, I just got in to see a g,p friday, interesting I have just been told my magnesium is normal, but how can this be possible as only 1percent is circulating in the blood and the other magnesiun is in the cells, therfore a result normal is in accurate as i also have smptoms of calcium and magnesium deficiency.
sorry to sound so doom and gloom, I wasnt sure which route to take. Your answer and suggestions have been very helpful.
Your welcome Merissa and I hope you get things sorted for Christmas. If you think your magnesium is wrong then fight your corner or ask the doc to explain where they are getting their "Normal" result from.
Please dont feel the need to appologise for any posts or questions you put on this site - if we can't help or turn to each other when we are in a panic or in need of advice then who can we turn to.
Hope you get it sorted and if poss could you update us all on Friday (I only ask because after Friday I have no acccess to this site until 14th Jan and would like to know how you got on)
yes I am having hypo smptoms, I am not on meds, stopped them a week before blood test. Doc thought the meds were causing such a low tsh, but this cant be possible as not taken any.
I take a calcium, magnesium and zinc supplement. I decided not to go the medical route (apart from the occasional beta blocker), and am taking supplements instead, which have helped with the muscular symptoms tremendously. Hard to tell which are helping, but I'm taking a combo of coQ10/l-carnitine as well as the above-listed minerals for muscles. Royal Jelly and AloeVera to try to get my immune system to recognise its own cells and stop attacking them. B vitamins for fatigue, and selenium with vitamins a, c, and e (for eye symptoms but also for general health as we tend to be deficient in selenium these days). I also have lemonbalm and valerian, which I will take before the betablockers to try to calm my system down, and I have liquid bugleweed/motherwort combo, which I also take if I feel very symptomy. I'm feeling WAY better, I dont know if its the supplements or just time, but I would say supplementation is worth a try if you feel you are low in something and it's not coming up in your bloods. I am also anaemic, I think they might not prescribe iron if you are going on carbimazole. I can't remember for sure but there might be a reason why your doc ignored that particular result. I'm going to check with mine next time I see him. I was anaemic last time too, but it righted itself after my bloods had stabilised.
forgot to say vit D. my gp gave me a series of booster doses as I was so low, and I found that the day after the boosters my depression symptoms were much improved but came back over the next 2 days, so I'm convinced vit D is linked to the depressive symptoms
