Oh, it just gets better and better for me. Just had a call from the doctor's surgery which has now put me straight into a panic. Got my full blood panel results finally from last week although they may be skewed on some results especially my thyroid because I got tired of wondering when they were going to turn up as I have my bloods done at home and I had been off my B complex for a couple of weeks and ended up taking one the day before they arrived (typical). Obviously the complex has Biotin in. You can see on the second scan that she clearly told them to contact me 24hrs before coming but they didn't.
On compared the latest results to the last full blood panel I had done two years ago the readings are pretty much the same on most although she never checked my cholesterol levels back in 2022 (which in theory at my age she should have done) so have no idea how long I have had the high lipid problem which is not very helpful.
In the meantime the receptionist just phoned to book me in for a telephone appointment with the nutritionist/pharmacist or whatever she is to discuss me going on Statins!!!! Had a very quick read up on them and NO WAY am I going on those. I can't deal with any more symptoms from side effects and stuff affecting my gut dysbiosis. So how in the hell am I going to be able to address getting my lipids down.
Apart from the thyroid results I can't decifer the other results. Can someone help please. What indicates that I need Statins? I see where it says "lipids abnormal contact patient" but it doesn't give any readings/ranges. I read "Lipid levels may become abnormal because of changes that occur with aging, various disorders (including inherited ones), use of certain medications, or lifestyle (such as consuming a diet high in saturated fat, being physically inactive, or being overweight). Well my diet isn't high in saturated fats but I AM physically inactive a lot of the time due to feeling so unwell so that has obviously had a real negative impact on me even though I manage a walk late evenings, although with all the fatigue lately, the infection, the die-off from the probiotic, have just been too fatigued and my legs won't carry me.
Clearly my liver function is struggling to process stuff which my old FD picked up on about 5yrs ago from test results but my liver results show as normal???
Can having had a course of antibiotics a couple of weeks before my bloods affect any particular results?
As regard my thyroid results it now looks like I am slightly undermedicated for ME but would those results be accurate because when she arrived at around 11.30am I had already taken my Levo at around 6am that morning and no small split dose T3 the night before as I would usually before testing and obviously I had B complex the day before.
Out of curiosity would a blood test AFTER taking Levo normally show T4 higher or lower levels?
And here we go again with my T3 looking at a better level on an NHS test. Should I properly retest my thyroid again? I had upped my T3 by an additional 2.5mcg but went back to my original dose of 10mcg a few weeks ago around the time I got the boil that needed treating so didn't know whether the additional symptoms I was feeling was due to the T3 increase or my body fighting that small boil infection.
My B12 and Folate levels don't look too bad considering I was off my B complex for a couple of weeks before but my Ferritin looks a little low and my Folate?

Big Parma's desire to get everybody on statins regardless to increase their profits! Don't worry about it. Refuse the statins and increase the T3. Your body is not processing your lipids as it should due to low T3.
hey you, good to see you back on the boards. Hope you are feeling a little better. No way am I going on those things, it's bad enough trying to keep going every day as it is with all this die-off gut issue shite. I need to read up on it and see what I can do although I don't have a high fat diet, I only have a bit of Ghee and coconut oil, although mum had high cholesterol and it could be hereditary and I read stress and thryoid issues can cause it too. Just another thing to deal with.
Hereditary high cholesterol would be very, very high. I don't know about stress - but if stress does raise it, my cholesterol should be sky-high right now! - but low T3 most definitely can cause it. Keep telling you your FT3 is too low!
I know but they work with people with gut issues like I have. My gut is completely out and most likely I still have the SIBO/Candida that I was diagnosed with a few years ago
found an old blood test back in October 2016 where my cholesterol was ok and yet we know my T3 levels were low then even before starting T3 which I started in Nov 2016

If you have an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), treatment may be delayed until this problem is treated. This is because having an underactive thyroid can lead to an increased cholesterol level, and treating hypothyroidism may cause your cholesterol level to decrease, without the need for statins. Statins are also more likely to cause muscle damage in people with an underactive thyroid.
Well you are legally entitled to printed copies of your blood test results and ranges.
The best way to get access to current and historic blood test results is to register for online access to your medical record and blood test results
UK GP practices are supposed to offer everyone online access for blood test results. Ring and ask if this is available and apply to do so if possible, if it is you may need "enhanced access" to see blood results.
This currently only applies in England, not across the whole of the UK. Nether Scotland nor N.Ireland have released an NHS app for patients. (Scotland supposedly due in December '24.) Wales has an app, but only for booking appointments, repeat prescriptions and amending personal details
i had them emailed over to me and screenshotted them in my post for everyone to see (are you not able to click on the link)? I can't go and collect them as I am agoraphobic. I did request access to my medical records online but they clearly haven't done it yet so I will have to phone them again tomorrow
